Hi everyone, I applied for my mom's supervisa online on 11Sept, 2013. I am still waiting for the response from CIC. Can someone please tell me how long it takes to for initial response from CIC to client?? and what is the supervisa online application timeline???

My mom's super visa timeline:

Application submitted: 15th December 2012
Medical Request: 15th January 2013
Medical Done: 8th February 2013 [The delay in medical was my mistake, I didn't take the appointment rightly. I was not aware of procedure that time]
Visa Issued: 28th February 2013

My mother's timeline is as follows:

Application rec'd: June 27th
Medical email: Aug 31, 2013
Medical done: Sep 4th, 2013
Visa received on Sep 14th 2013

folks, is this visa given for ten years whatever the expiration date is on passport, or until passport expiration date?

It depends. My mom was given 4 yrs multiple Super visa. She previously had 4 yrs normal multiple trv. Her passport will not expire for next 10 yrs, but visa is valid for only 4.

Of course you can filled it on behalf of your father but at the end his signatures will be require on the applications.
So you can fill all the forms related to Super Visa and can send it to your father to take the printout of it and sign it, attach the supporting documents from you, attach his original passport and submit it.

I think passport is submitted once application is reviewed and approved.

I have a question regarding medical exams, do we have to wait for CIC to send medical request or we can do it in advance before submitting visa application?

Two ways you can have your medical exam
Wait for instructions from the visa office after you have submitted your application
Undergo your medical exam before you submit your application

Not sure if it will work for all countries, in my case, Pakistan.

You should wait for medical especially if person residing in Pakistan.

Aug 21st 2013 - Medical Request (Notification came via email. Instruction and Medication Examination form was attached to her CIC online Profile).
Aug 21st 2013 - Medical Completed
Present Status - No reply yet

My mom lives outside of Canada. I did the application behalf of her. So, it should consider as a outside Canada application, right?
