It looks like they ask just for number of people living in that household. I could only suppose that Canadian VO in China do not want somebody in Canada living "twenty people in 2bedroom house" invites the 21st relative to stay with them in the same house. :D

And by the way, you invite her mom- then these are YOUR rules. No agents. Apply online for her (fill in a form for a representative- you) only for a visitor visa.
The processing time appears to be longer for Chinese applicants submitting online than paper.

Furthermore, how do VO know that the household living in a 2 bedroom house?

Is there any rush to come to Canada as soon as possible?
For some, they need their passport to travel somewhere else while the passport had been submitted. Especially for foreigners in China, they need their passport for banking in China.

I agree with Regina about the 21st person in the same house..lol...however I dont see why this question is even relevant. If she was renting a room from a landlord, there is no need to get the other roomies or the landlord involved (landlord will also have to sign this) in this. Makes no sense. But i guess technically since I did write and sign a letter of approval of residency confirming that she does live at my mom's, then I will need to write a list, just i dont want to get it signed (Steaky, can you recall how your list looks like and if it was signed by the homeowner?)

There is no rush in my view, but I cannot say that for her and her parents, I do want to meet the parents first and I was hoping it will be in Shanghai, not them coming over here.

The below is what my gf wants from my mom or father since they are the homeowner. I am inclined NOT to have anything signed. I mean if she cant wait for us to get married (I was hoping to get married with her within a couple of years but we had a HUGE fight over this yesterday and I have never seen her go ballistic like this. Maybe its a good think I did because now I saw her so called 'dark side'. May think twice about being with her.

People’s List in My House:

Dear Visa Officer,

I would like to certify that people living in my House are as following listed:

Name Gender Relationship to me
1)
2)
3)

Hereby certified.

Like I said before, there is no list and I don't need to indicate whether or not I am the homeowner. I only cosign the invitation letter.

I had to disagree with you and Regina about the 21st person in the same house...this thing is really irrelevant. The invitor might be living in a monster house or farm/estate with 20+ bedrooms... who knows!

Thanks both of you for taking your time to help and humor me. Appreciate it a ton.

I will go home tonight and see how to fix up the situation with my gf, she is peeved as hell that I do not want to sign that list for her. I am gonna stick with that and see if she caves in.

For expert advice, you might want to send a private message to PMM

Now remembered! My father in law must had copied and included the signed list that we gave to my mother in law for her application two years ago. So indeed your gf's parent need the list showing the number of people in inviter’s household. I also gave a copy of my property tax notice back then.

Sure.but what do you say about this case?
From what I remembered after viewing PMM's response on similar post, he said people don't need to apply a new visa. They can use the visa on their old passport. So it's better to double check with PMM.

Thanks Steaky, I also heard that my friend whose mother got the Super Visa in March 2014 also came to Canada three years earlier on a tourist visa for his graduation and maybe that helped his mother's cause to get the Super Visa even though he still isnt a PR yet. Another point that helped was the fact that he bought his own condo and that he has worked for 2 years now at Scotia bank.

Looks like the quota for Super Visa application for 2014 has already been surpassed. Per a headline:

Recently, Citizenship and Immigration Canada announced that the 2014 application quota for the parent and grandparent (PGP) sponsorship program was set at a cap of 5,000. While 2014 is still young, the quota has already been met. This means that the program is no longer accepting applications until it reopens for the next year in January 2015.

Does that mean there is no point for my gf to apply a Super Visa for this year? Maybe she should just get her a tourist visa this year and apply for Super Visa next year, which may improve her parents chances as they have been here and returned PLUS have a year or income and work.

Thanks guys!

thanks for the clarification Pari...i am just trying to understand all the options and its really a lot.

my gf's parents are actually applying for a TRV for PRIVATE VISITORS (VISITING FAMILY OR FRIENDS) but it looks like they still need that list of inviter's household. see below.

From your inviter(s):

An invitation letter stating the purpose and duration of the visit;
A list showing the number of people in inviter’s household;
A copy of the inviter’s citizenship or immigration status document (e.g. Permanent Resident Card – please copy both sides, Study Permit, Work Permit, etc.);
Proof of inviter’s income and financial situation in the form of independent, third-party documentation from a Canadian source which is reliable or easily verifiable. For example, but not limited to: Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessments [NOA], employment letters showing salary, pay stubs, banks statements, Statements of Remuneration Paid or financial statements prepared by a licensed professional. If the inviter is studying in Canada, a letter of acceptance from the school.
