Hello Bryanna, I was thinking would it be better to just apply to sponsor her as permanent resident rather than getting Super Visa ? I can use the stronger ties in my favour. Are you aware of how long the applications are taking ?
PR applications for parents are taking 1-2 years. Of course the trick is to be selected - not everyone is selected and the lottery is over for this year.

Also, you need to meet the minimum income requirements for three years in a row and that income must be from Canadian sources. So assuming it's just you and your mother (no other dependents), you need to show income of around $41K or more for each of the last three years to qualify. Note that if your brother is under 22, he will be counted as a dependent.

Thanks Scylla,

I am not concerned about the income as I have been above $60k for the last 3 years. Do you know if I can apply for her permanent residence when she comes to Canada on Supervisa. Does she have to go back and apply or can she still stay until they make a decision on her application?

As Scylla stated, the issue at hand is getting selected to sponsor your parents in the PGP , many apply , many aren’t selected , and the program is closed for this year . You only apply once selected. And numbers are capped

Hello All,

Thank you for all the help. I just wanted to let you guys know she got approved for 10 year Super VISA and will be travelling to Canada this month. IRCC did not have any issues with my brother coming here as we applied prior to his arrival to Canada. I had to show a larger amount of funds, used a notarized invitation letter and showed more funds in her bank account.
