Hello all,

there are some issues with the Super Visa application for my mother, and I wanted to double check with you guys before finalizing and submitting it:

  1. Travel Dates: We don't have any formal plans today, but she is planning to visit us next Summer in 2023, and staying for about an year before going back. But this is extremely flexible depending on the chances of getting her approved. Is it also too soon to apply now?
  2. Health Insurance: Should I seek out health insurance, and pay 1 year in advance, even though she is not planning to visit now, nor the end of the year? Should I only place some quotes instead for Health Insurance the documents part, and later pay to show the immigrant officer at the aiport?
  3. Finances: I will not sugarcoat this; I came from a poor family, and my mother is a widowed housewife. She basically lives off support from all her daughters and sons (we are 5 total). So on the finance part I placed only 700 dollars (which is the amount she has today saved), and placed below on the form that I will help her and support her on this question. Luckily I am well employed here in Canada and have been so for a number of years. So through my tax returns it should show that I will be able to afford her comfortably during her visit, but what should I place on this part to make sure she gets approved?
  4. Letter of Invitation: Taking into consideration that I will have to fully support her, any good example for Letter of invitation out there?

Sorry for the lengthy post, I just want to make sure my mother can visit us, and get to know our life here in Canada. She has her life back home with my other 4 siblings, and an apartment of her own to attend to, so she has no intentions to stay.

Thank you very much in advance!

Thank you for your reply!

replying back some points:

  • I do meet the LICO for the total number of people in our family with her visit (total of 4. My spouse and I, daughter and my mother)
  • She hasn't travelled in the last 20 years, but she did visit Canada in the 90's, and she respected the time to leave her visit. Her ties back home would be mainly my siblings, and her apartment (she doesn't have any investment, or any of that)

Do you think that placing only 700 dollars on the amount of money that she will bring to Canada form will be enough for the approval?
