Folks,
Looking for inputs on supervisa denial chances. My father passed away this week and my mother is left alone in India. I was thinking to apply for Supervisa for my mom. But I am worried about the visa refusal/denial.
Some background first.. I moved to Canada in July-2021 & don't have my PR card or tax returns yet. I and my wife make over $200K per year and that should be sufficient for LICO. My (only) brother lives in Paris. My dad owns a house and I am planning to transfer this to mom. She also has a bank balance of $20K.
For supervisa, I have the following questions:
- Can we submit employment letters alone for income proof, or is it recommended to wait until NOA is available?
You need T4 or NOA of 1 year to apply for supervisa. Thats the requirement including medical insurance coverage of $100,000.
- For strong ties to home country, is showing property alone sufficient? Asking this as I and my brother are outside India.
Yes thats sufficient, but not needed for supervisa. Since you have please provide those.
- I don't have PR card yet. Can I use my COPR for PR proof?
You can, but now only visitor you can apply for mom and then request extension every 6 months. You will need to pay $100 each time you renew.
- I am anyway planning to take good health insurance. My mom has diabetes and hypothyroidism. Would that cause any chances of denial?
Not at all, that does not effect. Dont worry
- The processing time on portal shows 44 days for Supervisa. But reading some posts in the forum here leads me to think that processing is much slower. Can anyone confirm if processing is indeed under 2 months from India?
Its not true, not sure. I submitted Mar2021. But our Biometrics were done just in September so i will need to wait 2 months and then i can say the timelines. Its all luck here. Some even get in 15 days and some in 1,2,3,4 months.
Hope this helps.
In general, I am curious to know how many of you had supervisa approved for single surviving parents with no other children of theirs back home?
