Hi

Been reading more and more to make sure I'm filling my forms right but am getting really confused and frustrated...
Especially after watching this video: http :// immigrationcanada.pro/videos/video-tutorial-application-to-sponsor-sponsorship-agreement-and-undertaking-imm1344/

I'm a Canadian Citizen (duh) and am applying to sponsor my wife in Hong Kong, WHILE she remains in Hong Kong and applying OUTLAND.

Now, according to IMM1344E Sponsor Eligibility Assessment 3, it asks
"Are you sponsoring a member of the family class or a member of the spouse or common-law partner IN CANADA CLASS?"

Now it's the "IN CANADA CLASS" part that's throwing me off - since it says if I answer "NO" to 1-3 (this is no.3) then I'm not eligible to be a sponsor!

But reading everything on CIC website points me to applying this way with these forms so I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding this question or not.

Please help.
Thanks a lot

my husband answered yes to this question. i dont think this is referring to inland or outland. I think it's asing if you are sponsoring someone to come to canada in general, though i could be wrong. i just know my husband answered yes and had no issues.

My husband answered yes to this question also, and we had no problems (got sponsorship approval back in January). We have an outland application as well.

You have to answer yes to this question.
If you are sponsoring your wife then that person is considered a member of your family class.

Thank you all for the anecdote.

I figured it was just a matter of how the "or"s were interpreted.
And being paranoid doesn't help...like...are they being sneakily ambiguous to stall you (because they can't handle the paper work) or to mess with your chances...either way not entirely impressed with the wording of that particular question
