Hello,

I am Canadian living outside Canada. I wanted to sponsor my non-Canadian wife. I submitted my sponsorship application last month. I specified Hamilton, On. as the place we intend to settle once my wife gets her status. Now, I have got a job offer from Montreal. Will this cause any problem in terms of the processing times, or requesting additional documents, especially, Quebec has its own questions/forms which I didn't answer/fill when I was completing my applications? Please help.

Thanks

I believe that it will be an issue, since, as you have indicated, there are additional forms/requirements for Quebec.

Would it be better to leave the application as is till my wife obtain her visa? or I have to send a new application package?

If you no longer intend to live in Hamilton, you'll have no choice but to withdraw your application and submit a new one for Quebec.

How long have you been married?

If you have been married less than 2 years, she will likely get a `conditional' PR (Condition 51) that requires you to live together for 2 years.
This would be an obvious problem if she were to in fact land (and live) in Ontario, while you work and live in Quebec.

There will undoubtedly be those, with more information than I have for you, than can help so...sit back, relax and wait a bit.

Good luck!

When you move from quebec to anywhere else it usually isn't a problem but going from anywhere else to QC might be an issue because u require the CSQ for quebec;

Hi

Don't worry, it's not a big deal and there is no need to withdraw your application. The Quebec application isn't done until AFTER sponsor approval anyways. Once you move to Quebec, inform CIC of the change in address. If you've already been approved as a sponsor, CIC should issue you a request to apply for your wife's CSQ, Certificat de Sélection du Québec. If you haven't yet received sponsor approval, they should send the CSQ request after. You apply for the CSQ and send it off to CIC.
