Hello people,
I'm going to apply for citizenship soon.
Now, I'm filling out the 'Application Form' and I have some curiosity about it.

How do you think about to submit some RQ-related documents as reference prior to receive the RQ ?

For example,
- attach the 'House Lease Agreement' related to 6E (question about Addresses)
- attach the 'NOA from CRA' related to 6F (question about Work and Education History)
- of course excluding the minor detail things like 'Bank Statements', etc.

I think it would be helpful to prove my 'Residential and Business Ties'.
But, the 'Instruction Guide' says : "Do not enclose the documents that are not required."
So I wondor there are any disadvantages if I attach thouse kinds of documents prior to receive the RQ.

I'd appreciate any advice or sharing the experiences.

Its a personal choice...
Given how the rules are changing at CIC by the end of the year...My suggestion would be to send all the proof of your stay in Canada along with your initial application. In the event of an RQ you will have to submit the documents anyways...so why not provide them all the papers in advance thus avoiding the RQ by a good margin. Just my 2 cents...

Good Luck!

All Documents Should be in English or French covering the timeline of the past 4 years preceding your application signed date.(Otherwise translated by an IN-CANADA translator only)

1) ALL PASSPORT PAGES + STAMPS
2) RENTAL/LEASE/MORTGAGE AGREEMENTS + UTILITY BILLS (PHONE/CABLE/INTERNET)
3) NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT FROM CRA
4) PAYSLIPS AND ANY EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS OR TIME SHEETS
5) CREDIT CARD AND BANK STATEMENTS
6) ANY EDUCATIONAL (ORIGINAL) TRANSCRIPTS / LETTER OF ENROLLMENT / DEGREES
7) IF SELF EMPLOYED THEN LETTER OF INCORPORATION ALONG WITH TAX ASSESSMENTS
8- OHIP RECORD
9) DOCTORS RECORD + DENTIST (INCLUDING A LOG OF APPOINTMENT DATES ATTENDED)
10) MEDICAL EXPENSE LIST FROM A PHARMACY
11) CBSA RECORD
12) CHILDREN'S EDUCATIONAL RECORD (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS + RECORD OF ENROLLMENT)
13) CHILDREN'S HEALTH RECORD FROM OHIP

There is a lot to be said for the ability to follow instructions. There is a reason they do not request these documents with your original application.

AndyAbins, Just curious where did you find the line "Do not enclose documents are not required"? I searched CIC all result giving that if you don't enclose required documents application will be returned.

However, enclosing NOA is not considered as additional document anymore it counts towards work documents (under new proposed law NOA for 4 years will be must) and for additional documents if an applicant is limited to attaching few documents like a copy of residence title/lease, a copy of CBSA or health record is not harmful. These just adds only few pages towards end of package stapled together but I will not prefer attaching excessive documents like RQs.

rayman_m, thank you for your advice.
If my memory is all right, I saw the message that says : "Do not send documents we have not requested" from the video instruction on the CIC website.

That's fine. I have seen that video which is a general one from Immigration to all. However, for Citizenship guidelines no such message published. So, sending 2-3 additional piece of doc. is OK..
