Study visa application :iraq

Hello all,

A friend wants to apply from Iraq. He is single and has been out of school for about 10 years. (Just working). He was accepted into the university in Saskatchewan and now has to apply to esl. He will be staying with a family member to save money when he arrives. A few questions:

1. What is the minimum amount he should put in his bank account to show cic he can support himself.
2. Is it possible to get a bank account in Canada while still in Iraq. He doesn't trust the system there.
3. Can he do his application online and then do biometrics and medical at a vac office there?
4. What are his chances of being accepted given he is from iraq?
5. What are some tips to strengthen his application?
