Hi Seniors

I have been refused study permit by CIC and the reason given was that, they dont think I can fund my education in Canada without working. My uncle is the one sponsoring my education, we presented his investment account with about 189000 USD, which has a cash value of 74,000 USD which can be liquidated at any time. He also paid my first term fees 6900 cad. I dont understand why CIC is saying that they dont think I can fund my studies in Canada. Seniors pls help, I am very confused, I want to reapply but I need your advice first.

Thank you

first and foremost uncle is not a very strong sponsor. secondly they prefer money in bank not some investments. read the acceptable proof of funds

Well said Mead... Also be sure to attach a sponsorship letter with a strong SOP

Thanks so much seniors for your prompt response, I attached a sponsorship letter and an affidavit of support from my uncle, I also attached a very good sop to my application. The account is not just an investment account, it has a cash value which can be liquidated at anytime. Please do you think it is a good idea for my uncle to transfer funds for at least a year into my account so that i print the statement and add a letter explaining that to show that i can fund my education my uncle has transfered money into my account. Do u think this will help? Pls help with your seasoned experience and more options. Thank you.

Regards
Cynthia.

ideally I would say if ur uncle transfers money to ur parents/ur account and keep it there for 4 months or more and then you use ur parents/ur account as proof of funds then that will be more solid case.
