Anyone knows why sp and sowp applications take longer time to process? The waiting time is so frustrating.

217 days now of waiting on my SP ext and Wife SOWP ext.
No update at all.
Very painful wait.
No drivers license for 7 months
No Provincial health insurance card (nb medicare) for 7 months
Eligibility not even started yet
Called multiple times, just told to wait.
Processing time is 112 days, I’m waiting for 217 days now
July 4th

I've been waiting for 258 days since May 24. I can relate.

I was assuming that IRCC will be processing July applications in February with respect to the approvals in this forum. I applied for SP + SOWP on July 15. Is there anyone who applied with SOWP at the end of June or the beginning of July and got approval?

you need to contact mp or keep calling.
I submitted mine - June 25
Got approval- jan 23
Physical permit- Jan 25
Sp / sowp/ vr (2kids).

You're waiting longer than it should be
I called many times but the response was always the same, "your application is in process." I haven't contacted MP yet because I'm skeptical about whether they can assist with non-Canadian matters. Therefore, I contacted the embassy of Canada in my country. They told me that they would send a note to the office to expedite the process. The result is still not known.
