Renew: Some one applied on March 29, get cl and approved on October 18. The processing speed seems to be accelerating, and it should pick up after March because, from February to mid-March, due to the new spousal work permit policy, there was a wave of people submitting both study permits and spousal work permits together, causing a large backlog.

God help us. Thank you for the great news!. Do you know if that March 29 approval was a family application? I am grateful if you could keep us posted

Hi everyone!
I sent my study permit extension application in May, did my biometrics in june, received the BVL in July but after a few days they called me because apparently they didnt received some papers.
I immediately sent them but until this day I am still waiting for the approval... I tried to call them multiple times and I sent 3 webforms but still no updates.
What else can I do?
Also my school said in the letter that I am supposed to finish my studies at the end of October (but that won't happen until at least December unfortunately..) do you think I will have to do a new application in 10 days?
Thanks

Hi,
I think I have good news!. Before someone else posted something similar so, I kept thinking about it because I’m running out of time Yesterday, I made a consultation with an immigration officer from border in my city( Kingston) He reviewed my process with my UCI and he said, “ You can apply for PGWP today. As you never lost your status and applied to Study Permit Extension before the expire date of the original. You and your husband are good to go. Apply, you and your husband are going to go into a new maintained/implied status and can start work immediately.
I will give it a try!

Things were quiet last week, as we didn't see many people post about getting approvals. Hopefully, we will start seeing family applications from April get approved this week. I applied on April 7 and your comment does give me hope. Fingers crossed!

I will double check so, tomorrow I’m travelling to the border point. I hope I bring good news by tomorrow afternoon. I have hope again
Hi! I hope this would be allowed *fingers crossed* I sent an inquiry to IRCC thru messenger in September about working under maintaining status (waiting for extension) after applying for PGWP and this is their response:

"Hi. You can apply for a PGWP while on maintained status as long as you meet all other requirements. Please see "Inside Canada graduates" for more information:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/eligibility.html
Note: If you had maintained status as a student when you applied for your PGWP, you won’t be able to work until we approve your PGWP."

Please let us know tomorrow. Thank you.
