Study Permit duration

Hello,

I had applied for study permit to get admitted for FALL 2016. My visa approval had got delayed and hence I had to defer to Winter 2017.
My TRV expires on Nov 2017 but my program is for 1 year.
In Letter of Introduction, there is no mention of expiry date of study permit.

Does CBSA officer determine study permit duration @ POE ?

My acceptance letter says program ends on 19th Dec 2017. Will I get permit till that date or 1 year from the date of arrival?
How does it work?

You should expect that your study permit will be issued until November 2017 to match your TRV, as part of the original study permit application.

Fortunately, you can extend your study permit from inside Canada without difficulty.
