I had a study permit and a work permit to complete my postsecondary studies, 6 months of classes, with other 6 months for a co op paid, the program lasts 18 months, with a break of 6 months in the middle. I claimed refugee status, and I was eligible, but I have not finished my co op whose duration is less than 6 months, when I was eligible, I received a work permit that says that I cannot study unless I was authorized, but usually for studies shorter than 6 months, you do not need a study permit, that means that I can not start my co op?? Am I Wrong? I should het another study permit? I need to prove my financial funds again? I do not have the money. I claimed refugee as soos as I knew I can do it, and I gave more importance, because my personal safety it is more important than money or my studies.

Thanks for your answers.

How long is the program in total? A 6 month co-op cannot be a stand alone program so you need a study permit. If you don’t have the funds then it may be refused. May be best to get PR and then finish studies.

Your studies are longer than six months. You have to use the total duration of the program.

So, in short, I can not complete my co op now. Ok, thank you.
As others pointed, best to wait and becoming PR to do so. Previously, as long as previous permit is valid, you can use that to continue studying. With Recent changes giving explicit authority to Immigration officers and CBSA to cancel TR Status, Yours could be cancelled or still valid.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/new-rules-strengthen-temporary-resident-document-cancellations-border-security-integrity.html

Ottawa, February 12, 2025—Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updated Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations to strengthen authorities to cancel temporary resident documents.

These changes give immigration and border services officers explicit authority to cancel electronic travel authorizations (eTAs) and temporary resident visas (TRVs) on a case-by-case basis, including when

  • a change in a person’s status or circumstances makes them inadmissible or no longer eligible to hold the document (for example, the person provided false information, has a criminal history or is deceased)
  • an officer is not satisfied that someone will leave Canada by the end of their authorized period of stay
  • the document is lost, stolen, destroyed or abandoned

My new work permit says: "unless authorized, prohibited from attending any educational institution, or taking any academic, professional, or vocational training course" So, I suppose, I can not . Thanks.

You can provided your previous study permit is still valid to cover for remaining study period, and has not been invalidated. Technically you have two permits unless they invalidate previous one.
Your Work Permit doesnt not confer any status and was issued primarily to support you with finding work but your study permit does confer temporary status.
