*sigh*usman_14pk said:CIC site has also updated.
They have removed the text about "wait for six months".
Now it is only:
"To work off campus, you must apply for a work permit. Do not begin to work off campus until you have received your work permit. The work permit authorizes you to work up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions, and full time during scheduled breaks (for example, winter and summer holidays, and spring break)."

Regulatory amendments to work permit programs
(...)
The Regulations also allow full-time students pursuing an academic, professional or vocational training program at a designated learning institution to work off-campus without a work permit. Off-campus work is allowed for up to 20 hours per week during the regular academic session and full time during regularly scheduled academic breaks. This represents time and cost savings to students who no longer need to apply and pay for a separate work permit and for CIC, as officers will no longer process off-campus work permit applications. This amendment replaces the existing program design, which requires study permit holders to wait six months after beginning their program of study before applying separately for an off-campus work permit.
Yup i have read the text on the other link provided by itstime.Neez said:Not really bro, you obviously don't know what the new regulations we all have been waiting for mean.
CIC site says "To work off campus, you must apply for a work permit" while with the new regulations that will take effect on June 1, international students will be able to work off-campus without even applying for a work permit, in other words, if you have your study permit, you're automatically allowed to work up to 20 hours per week.
It means that to date, you're not eligible for off-campus work permit unless you've been studying for 6 months in a participating institution as a full-time student.singh-ak said:Can some one explain in detail the meaning of this sentence?

"The new rules take effect June 1st.
Those who start studying in may have to wait until June 1st.
Those who start in September 2014 don't have to wait.
Those who started jan 2014, have to wait until June 1st.
Those who started studying Sept 2013 have to wait until march 2014 (ADDED) to apply for workpermit (I forgot that part)."
Also, now you don't need to apply for work permit. They will not process off-campus work permit applications anymore. You can simple start working off-campus from June. It will be more clear in coming time when this information will be updated on CIC website.
