Student Visa --> Work Visa

Hey guys! I am almost done studying at CSNN, a private school for holistic nutrition. It's a certification program, so it doesn't qualify to extend into a work permit when I'm done.

I am hoping to get some advice on my options. I would love to stay in Canada for at least another 6 months to work and enjoy the mountains, so do you think applying for a Visitor Visa is the way to go? Can you work on a visitor visa? I am also hoping to start a web-based nutrition business, will there be any barriers?

You cannot work on a visitor visa. All a visitor visa allows you to do is visit Canada as a tourist - working is illegal.

If you want to work - you'll need a work permit. Since you won't qualify for a PGWP because you attended a private school - to get a work permit, you'll need a job offer from an employer in Canada and that employer will also need to obtain an approved LMIA.

Thank you so much! Although that is a bummer, I better start a more serious job search in the wellness field, or might look into an open work permit such as SWAP
