Hi All,

I just got my student visa rejected, there are several reasons provided by the VO.
However, there are something I'd like to confirm before re-applying.

I provided my financial statement indicated that I have $45.000 in my account.

My tuition fee is $45.000 for two years.

According to the financial requirement formula I found here:
cic.gc.ca/English/study/study-how-documents.asp

Single student = Tuition plus $10,000 for a 12-month period (or $833 per month)

- Do I have to submit two years worth of Tuition fee + Living Cost + Transportation Cost?
I read it somewhere I can submit one year worth of Tuition fee + Living Cost + Transportation Cost for applying student visa.

-Another question is, I did not explain where the money in my account came from(it's from my parents), and it's been there for approximately two years. Will that affect the result of my application?

Thank you.

if your rejection reason is just finance proof, prepare well for re apply.

It sounds like you just sent a bank balance of your account and did not send any asset or financial support letter etc.

don't be rush, you got rejected once. VO would check your app out more carefully for next time.

The reasons behind my application rejection are:
1. I don't have enough funds to finance my education & living expense without working in Canada.

2. I couldn't able to satisfy the officer that I will leave Canada after finishing my study showing the reason that
2.1. I have low job prospects in my home country. (I've been jobless for a year because i had to resign from my company to focus on my IELTS and GMAT test).
2.2. My personal Assets and my personal financial Status.(I don't really have any assets like house or land).
2.3. My travel history (I have only been to several countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand).

Yes, it is true that I only sent a bank balance of my account, and I stated that I will fund myself for my study and accommodation for the next two years. I don't have any other assets like house or land.

Update
After discussing with my family, I came up with a few things to improve:
1. I'm going to ask my uncle for sponsorship, he is the younger brother of my mum.
Is it okay to ask him to sponsor me?
2. Study plan
- Explaining my plan to return to my own country after finishing my study.
3.Letter of reference from my ex-employer

Q: Can you please provide information that Is the letter of sponsorship required to be verified by a notary?

Many Thanks!

1. your uncle can sponsor you - you need to ask him to write a letter that he would sponsor you for your as details as you can (tuition, living expense, would wire money to your bank account in Canada for every month/2 month etc)

2. writing a letter include your future plan would help
your plan in your country with your degree , job perspective etc

3.if your former employer would get your job back after study then the letter would helpful.
otherwise, not sure what kind of letter he would give you.

P.S. if you can get/apply for job on Campus through your faculty now, you can try

Thank you for your insights!

The letter was a reference letter for my studies, in the letter, my former employer said that she wouldn't hesitate to re-hire me.
Since one of the reason was that I have low job prospects in my home country so I thought this letter will come in handy.
Should I reconsider to attach it in my application?

I strongly recommend you to apply for study loan. It is their preferred option and will take care of the finances regarding visa, take it if you can.

Its good your uncle will sponsor you. get the sponsorship document notarized.

Its very good if your employer can write a letter that they will re-hire you once you come back. Attach it

A strong SOP including why you are choosing to go for this course at such expenses

if you have fund from your school (in case of you pursue master/phd program or other research program) , you can summit the letter from your school that they will pay you $xxx. per month/semester/year.

If you are not in any of program and you do not have fund/scholarship beside your parents/ yourself, then you do not need.
