Student Visa - General problems.

Hi All ,

My wife is planing to apply for two year diploma in Humber college and really appreciate if anybody can help me with below queries.


1. Will the diploma course will enough to arrange spouse visa me.
2. I saw in CIC web site the amount of funds (10,000 for a year for her 4000 for me), as her Diploma is for two years do I have to show $20,000 + $8000 , what is the amount of fund I have to show.
3. I'm planning to get a open work permit and work during her study time. I believe it is possible.
4. Can she apply for post graduation work visa after completing the Diploma.
5. If anybody has gone through Study visa application process kindly let me know the process briefly or any link would be much appreciated.
6.Do / Don's during application process and during any interview with Visa Officer.

1. You can apply for a spousal open work permit but there is never a guarantee it will be approved. This is up to CIC. Some people are approved and some are refused.
2. You should show first year tuition + $15K for living expenses + another $3K to $5K for travel expenses.
3. Again, you can apply but there is no guarantee it will be approved.
4. Yes - provided she attends a qualifying school and meets the other PGWP requirements.
