STUDENT VISA APPROVED FROM JAMAICA

So I got my study visa and letter of intro.etc today,but my passport is only valid until nov.2017.On arrival to Canada will my study permit be valid until nov.2017?
Should I apply for a new passport which will be valid for 10yrs and bring both passports to canada? Can that work or not?

Congrats on getting your visa. I'm still waiting on mine. Unfortunately I won't be able to assist you with your questions. Was hoping you could answer mine How long did it take for your application to be processed? Which province are you going? Did you use an agent or applied on your own?

Okay thank you nonetheless . I applied via paper based application and it's about 6weeks as I applied on May 5th and and June 17,today lol I got an email saying that it has been approved.i didn't use an agent I did it on my own and I'll be attending humber college in Toronto.

Ok kool. I dont think you would be able to apply for a new passport so early unless you are reporting it stolen. You can apply for a new passport while in canada though there is a consulate in Toronto.

I just applied 2weeks ago. So I have some time to wait

Hey Kay96 you can apply for a new passport before you leave. I just did and mine would have expired in August 2017.

Can you share the documents submitted? I'm planning to apply shortly.

Thanks Mel.Well as you must know u can apply via paper based or online,I did paper based.
U need bank statements,police record,school transcript,cxc and or cape results any Academic documents,I filled out the application online and printed it,acceptance letter from the college,and the page the states the amount of tuition you should pay,sent in my passport and bought a courier. That's basically everything that I did and I had to collect my passport at the visa office.

Big Congrats Kay on your acceptance, I opted for the online application when I think about it I possibly should have gone the paper route. Awaiting feedback. Question, did you furnish them with a medical at the time of submission or were you asked to submit after? Thanks Much

Each country has a specific time for processing, which country you applying from?
