Thanks Albertagoverner for this information. This reassurance is good news, not only for me, but for others there who are on the same boat. :)

hello all-

reading thru the CIC Newsletter, i was able to stumble into this statement:

'In addition to the H1B occupations list, Alberta has also revised its requirements for H1B status. Previously, Alberta required that an applicant's H1B status be valid only at the time of application; but it could elapse thereafter. Now, H1B status must be maintained until the AINP makes a final decision on the candidate.

The AINP is currently projecting total processing times of 2 to 6 months.'

For the experts, can you comment on what this means? For all of us on the H1B track, given that there is a recession in the US, timing is of the essence. I just wanted to make sure if, upon receiving the nomination from AINP, am I good to go for the H1B-SRS stream? I am currently at the stage where I got my nomination from the mail. I give it a little over a month to get all the paperwork completed and submitted to Buffalo. Would you say I am 'safe' and almost there? Given I am approved for the CIC application and get a stamped visa, if I am laid-off from work (praying that this does not happen) anytime after the AINP nomination, will I be questioned and possibly be refused entry to Canada?

Dear Optimusprime:

As you mentioned, You got nomination so you are good. Even In case while CIC is processing your Aplication if they found you "out of status" on H1B then they will move your CIC process to your Home country Canadian consulate. As Alberta PNP has top of highest priority among all classes of PR cases, your application will be processed extremely fast even in your home country. So, If you have recieved nomination you are OUT OF DANGER ZONE and have a beer!.

Updates to my case... I got my AINP approval on the mail mid-February and it was dated January 20, 2009. AINP approvals are moving fast.

Just wanted to post my progress:

Sent the pre-assessment forms via email on October 3, 2008.
Got a reply back from Gingie on October 3, 2008.
Received the Invitation & application forms on November 15, 2008.
Sent the Invitation & accomplished forms on November 27, 2008.

I believe next step is to wait for the reference number (From reading thru the posts, this takes 1-3 weeks). Alongside, will have to wait for the AINP nomination. :)

Wish me luck.

:)

Updates to this one. I got my employee file number on December 17, 2008. My number ends in 0433.

Looks like Alberta people are reading our blog and put that in their FAQ :)

Or got tired of tens of people calling and emailing asking the same questions over and over.

Hi I am about to send my AINP-009 application to ALberta

Can I enter two NOC ??? 2171 & 2174
My Current role is Business System Analyst and designation is Project Leader
Previously I have worked as Programmer Analyst, System Analyst and Business Analyst also.

In my LCA my designation is Programmer Analyst and Computer Programmer Analyst..(two different companies)

Any suggestion ??

thnx

Apply under one and make reference to the other. See which of the two NOC's you closely fit the job description under and apply with it.

Good luck,

V

Disclaimer: I am not an expert

Thanks a lot 'V'

When you say reference how to do that,
I am applying under 2171 since it matched with my current duties... so should I also mention I have also worked as Programmer Analyst and then refer it to 2174 ??
