cchabert,

to tell you the truth, it depends on a lot of things. People don't realize that medical and security clearance is the slowest part of the approval process. Depending on your country of origin, they subject your name to serious checks and the fbi report is just one of many checks. They sometimes have to wait to hear back from the clearance authority. Then medicals are all processed and reviewed at a central location in ottawa. Ottawa decides if you passed or fail and communicates that to your processing office. This may even take 4 months depending on how busy ottawa is at the particular point in time.

On the average people spend 6 months for the CIC part of PNP.

I will get to ATL on Xmas day.

Regarding FBI fingerprints I got them in 3 weeks and I'll be getting my home police certificate at the beginning of January.
Also Since I also lived in Mexico for almost a year I'll need to get those... however the CIC site specifically says that for Mexico we will get instructions of how to get those documents...

As far as the other documents... since we already sent copies of the CIC forms to Alberta then we do not need to work on that... maybe some small adjustments though :)
You definitely will need to get birth, marriage certificates for you and your dependents, copy of passport, visa, police certificates, proof of funds, photos, fee payment and I believe that's all we need...
BTW we also have to attach AINP Nomination that was sent to us, and there is also an red post-it that we need to glue on the envelop.

BTW there is also a confirmation letter you have to fax or mail to Alberta ASAP... it states before 30 days though.... if you do not do that then your nomination will be canceled.. or at least is what is says in the nomination package...

I hope it helps

It usually takes 4 weeks as it mentioned in FAQ on FBI site.
I'm not in 3rd stage yet but I have least knowledge that you will need police report from your home country and the countries you had stayed over 6 months after the age of 18.
I would say you can start obtaining police report/certificate or sometimes call character certificate as I assume it would be a little harder since we are not present physically there.
Also we need to do medical but I believe CIC will request doing medical once you get AOR (Acknowledgment of Receipt).
I am also eager to know rest of the CIC form and other processing documents, but since seniors haven't posted any additional information yet, all we can just wait. :)
Hope it helps you and Good Luck!

Hey dnataraj did you told your lawyer about Alberta? I think I'm in the same situation, I apply for FSW with a lawyer but do Alberta by myself, any input how to handle the lawyer?

I am planning to submit to CIC until January next year... I still do not have my police certificate from my home country and I wouldn't like to have a delay in my case for that reason...

Way to go! Just wait and remain strategic. I have a friend who completed FSW last year within 7 months. He waited till he got ALL the docs...FBI, IELTS and all stuffs....that eliminate delays.

This make a lot of sense, let the system works and relax in the mean time.

Which day do you want to meet and where? any ideas?

Let me lay out the whole process what I understand and easier for others to make sense.
1). Once we got the nomination certificate, we need to sign the confirmation letter and fax or mail it to AB asap.
2). AB has already forwarded the CIC application, so if we have other documents on hands such as birth certificate, marriage certificate, proof of funds, police report/character certificate (from home country), FBI fingerprint report and of course CIC processing fees ( US $550); along with the AINP nomination certificate we can proceed the case to CIC as our convenient basis.
Note: Make sure to adhesive red label as we did green label that sending to AB PNP.
3). we will get AOR and probably after few months, we will be asked to do medical if CIC does not require any documents from us.

Please correct me if I m wrong to understand the whole process.

Q# For medical, Do we need to travel to Ottawa or can it be done in specified US locations?

Findude32 if you are in the US they will give you the list of places where you can get your medicals, for example here in Atlanta there is only one place to go, and cost around $350 per person, you can't ask for a place of your preference, it has to be the one they give you.

Cchabert,
l was thinking you could do your medicals anywhere as long as canada has the doctors on their website as one of their recomended doctors.

That is pretty expensive and I guess we can not use the current medical insurance for that :(

My brother in law try to do that and they told him they need to go with the Doctor CIC have on their data base and on those days they don;t have medical insurance here, I don;t think your insurance will paid for that.

cchabert,
I asked my lawyer to withdraw my FSW as he wanted additional fee to process PNP. Also now that my NOC code is removed from the list of 38 occupations, it would have created more confusion at CIC.

I am attaching the communication from the lawyer to CIC (to withdraw my FSW) and attching it with fresh CIC kit with PNP approval.
