Hi guys,
I did a search but I couldn't find what I needed.
Do you have any suggestions or any links to threads you can post here?

What would be the steps to appeal to an sponsorship application?
We haven't been refused but I want to be proactive and start having things ready as I know there is only a small window to send an application to appeal.
I'm getting a little nervous about my sponsor being approved :-X
I am trying to be patient but at the same time I want to be prepared for any type of results to come.
Any help appreciated!

Hi Lunas,

I am fairly new around here....so hopefully somebody will step in and correct me if I am wrong!! I am not sure that you can appeal the sponsor approval part. As I understood it if CIC reject the application to sponsor they will tell you why, you can put this right and re-apply. I remember on one of the forms there was an option to tick what you wanted them to do with application if the sponsor approval was denied....do you remember what you ticked? We opted to return fees, less the £75 sponsor approval fee if we were turned down.

I am a fellow September applicant and get what you are going through. With every day that goes by I convince myself that I am going to be the 'one' on the September spreadsheet that gets refused. I know when I stop and look at this logically it will be ok. Hopefully you can take a deep breath, apply some rational thoughts and just keep going. Being apart is tough at the best of times, without the added pressure this process brings. Fingers crossed for us both it wont be long until we are posting 'woop woop' on the September applicants thread.

We wanted the chance to appeal if rejected. I thought that applied for the Sponsor and the Applicant ???
I just want to be prepared because you never know yikes! I know we are still good according to the website processing dates and I always worry and want to start working ahead of time. You should see my purse is full of stuff...all these "just in case" items...lol

Zat what I read too and we also did opt for to return fees, less 75 sponsor approval fee if turned down as currently I'm unemployed and has never been on welfare.

Yeah I remember. We opted to have the right to appeal, we didn't care about the money but to have that chance if something went wrong ::)

Honestly Lunas I really would not worry about stage 1 that much except how long is it going to take. Since being on the forum I have not seen 1 application refused at stage 1, maybe there has been but I certainly have not seen it. I think your probably at the stage where stage 1 has been too long and you just want it over with already, I know because I had the exact same thoughts on my road with regards to stage 1. You will be fine and stage 1 approval is just around the corner.

Stage 2 will try the patience of a saint, the first 8-10 weeks you pretty much resign yourself to hearing nothing but once the 10 week period comes along then everyday feels like a week and then the anxiety really kicks in. I cant even imagine what people think who have waited 6 or more months, it is like a daily living hell, where you just want every weekend to pass as quickly as possible.

Anyway wishing you good luck and as re: to stage 1 you will be fine and you will more than likely hear something this week or at the latest end of next week. :D

You really don't need to worry about the sponsor being denied. I am the sponsor and I was approved on Oct 9th. At the time of application I had no employment and for the previous 3 years I had been living in Dominican Republic with an income of $500 per month. I was approved to sponsor without any questions.
Unless you're on welfare, you're living abroad and gave the visa officer zero proof that you're going to return, then u have nothing to worry about!

Thank you guys

My husband has a 17 year convinction that haunts him on his criminal record so even though it's been a while and his life has changed, we are worried. He cannot even travel to the US because of it without a travel waiver. So we've been nervous.

After 10 years, aren't people who were convicted considered rehabilitated?? So if it's been 17 years, then I think he is considered rehabilitated. You probably know more about this than I do...

Yeah that's what I thought too unless it was something really really serious. Pretty sure most offences are considered rehabilitated after 10.
