Hi i need more infos about the application for TWP for Quebec. My husband received a job offer through an Agency here in Singapore. But I'm still doubt with the employer. What should be processing goes, is it LMO first then application for CAQ (certificate of acceptance quebec) or vise versa? Can somebody help me also to verify if the employer is legal. The job offer will be Fish packer at Cruz Sea Foods & Guesthouse. Can someone help me please before we will pay a bigger amount, we already paid $250 for application fee of CAQ, how long weeks or months this usually goes, they told us they expect 3-7 days, then after they will apply for temporary work permit as they need to deploy him by oct 10 as much as possible. Hoping for responses, thanks. God bless.. ;)

Hi Pretty Mom,

I am no expert but this is what I digged up.

Employer needs the Application for Certificate of Acceptance (CAQ) for Temporary Work which the employer or worker may pay at CAD177 completed and signed.

Employer will send an Application for a Labour Market Opinion to HRSDC Service Canada and also send a copy of your completed CAQ with other documents to the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC).

If Job Offer is accepted, they will send you 2 copies of your CAQ as well as a confirmation letter from Service Canada and the MICC that you will need to apply for a work permit.

You can see the steps and fees here:
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/temporary-workers/obtaining-authorizations/low-skilled-worker/steps-employer.html

With regards to your employer Cruz Sea Foods, googling it will give you their website. However, postal code G4K 9CK was not recognized by canadapost.ca because of the format (must be A8A 8A8). Phone number is also negative via yellowpages.ca.

Maybe you can call them personally to check or someone in this forum may know if they exist.

Goodluck. :)

Thanks Plussy..

I already did contacted the company and he confirmed with me that they are hiring. Yup that's the main reason why Im so doubtful, but with the agency here in Singapore no doubt for it because I've checked and its registered un Ministry of Mnapower Singapore. He even told me via email (without asking him) that their company is registered and that they set up their website recently and registering it google will be done this end of the month. Then I asked him to give the exact postal code and the address upon arrival of the applicant in Quebec because my friend will see me. I'm still waiting for his reply.

I would really appreciate your help guys if you can verify for me this Cruz Sea Foods & Guesthouse.

Thanks a lot, God bless.. ;)

They say they are in Quebec but their website talks about living on the West Coast of BC???? 3 time zones and a couple thousand miles away. These guys are fake. Their website is registered to a company in Australia. The address is not a Canadian address (postal code is wrong).

Hi Pretty Mom,

Sorry. Good thing you were able to sense their legitimacy.

I urge you to browse jobbank.ca. Maybe you get lucky and find work in the future.
