I don't think you can check that anywhere, but the condition is good for exactly two years from your date of landing. If your COPR has Condition 51 listed on it, then you are under condition 51 for exactly 730 days from landing. Having that condition doesn't affect your PR anyhow, it is more a safety net for your sponsor in case you were just marrying for immigration.facs said:Hi,
I understand the removal of Conditional PR will automatically be remove after two years time, but is there a place I could check if I officially have the "Conditional" PR status removed?
Thanks,
Francis
I am wondering because I have travelled outside Canada without my sponsor for a certain period. So I am wondering if the "Conditional" title is removed right after the two years mark or if it is removed after the two years mark PLUS the period I wasn't in Canada.Alurra71 said:I don't think you can check that anywhere, but the condition is good for exactly two years from your date of landing. So long as your sponsor is a Canadian citizen your time outside of Canada counts as time spent IN Canada. You're good on that front, so no worriesfacs said:I am wondering because I have travelled outside Canada without my sponsor for a certain period. Just to be clear: it counts towards the residency requirement for maintaining PR, but does not count towards time spent physically present in Canada towards citizenship. These two different things often get confused by being talked about using the same language, and it seems useful to be very clear about that. It does not count as time spent physically present in Canada, only towards the residency obligation.Alurra71 said:So long as your sponsor is a Canadian citizen your time outside of Canada counts as time spent IN Canada. Not too much wine, but perhaps too much time on the Bowflex has cooked my brain today ... ;DPonga said:I am wondering because I have travelled outside Canada without my sponsor for a certain period.
Ooopsie...somebody's had a bit too much wine. The OP said that the sponsor was NOT with him/her.
