Status Check

Hi,
My attorney just forwarded the email from CIC saying that my case has been received by CIC on 2014/04/03.

I checked the website that the officer are working on applications received on April 4, 2014. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

However, there's no information of my status :'(. How long will my status be changed or could be displayed online?

probably 2-3 days AFTER receiving sponsorship approval. There are some who report being able to view it after AOR, even then it takes a couple days to update in the system. It's not updated immediately after sending the notification. Also, usually the UCI number is given in SA... which seems to be the only number availble to check status with. File numbers and receipt numbers don't seem to work (at least for me).

oh, you mean when will something be added to your status online? probably a long time away. generally the first things added are medical has been received, application has been received. there are people whose status' never say medical received, and it takes months for it to change to application in process. they are slow to update and i'm sure how much and when is dependant on the visa office too.

checking ecas daily for an update is just going to drive you nuts! at this point, all you can do is wait and find other things to focus on.

you are not oging to be able to check your status online until after at least AOR is issued. Most likely, as i mentioned above the service to check your individual status will not work until AFTER SA is given. Your SPONSOR will receive notification of AOR and SA by either mail or email... you will not! your information will not be searchable until this time as receipt numbers DO NOT WORK, even though it suggests otherwise. File numbers MAY work, and UCI numbers DEFINITELY work. A UCI will not be issued until SPONSORSHIP APPROVAL.

What the other poster is probably referencing is the processing times on the CIC sight for all applications. they are now working on applications on April 4th. This doesn't mean that ALL applications received prior to this date have been complete, just that they have started processing these applications, so he is suggesting you'll hear soon because you submitted your application before this time. Stop checking ECAS, you will not get any information from there.

Thanks for your detailed information. Actually I am the sponsor ,but I assigned all of the paper work to my attorney who forwarded the CIC email with my UCI number. I just called my attorney and he said that I have to wait for few more weeks. Then the status will be shown on the website.

you are a very long way to hearing about anything. the next time ottawa gets in touch will be to ask for more information or your ppr. ECAS will not change to "in progress" for months and months, until an officer picks up your application and starts working on it. be prepared for many months of silence from CIC.

Hi, You say that UCI is issued until SPONSORSHIP APPROVAL??? Are you sure about this??

We just sent our application in january and my husband(the Sponsor) got e-mail with UCI sometime in April....I am out of status and Ive heard they may process out of ststus faster....But does getting UCI mean he is Approved as a sponsor?
