Hello my friends! As usual, best site in the world for information. I rarely post because you're all so gracious with tonnes of info already.

Quick explanation and my question:

My wife lives in the Philippines and we got married in February 2015. We got our marriage certificate/NSO and she has already gotten her new passport using my last name legally. We've been waiting 4 months now for her SSS ID to come in! She wants it cause she's worried it would cause problems when applying for PR in Canada with out it. Do we really have to wait for that ID?? I figured a passport is about as close to government ID as you can get. Let me know your thoughts my friends, salamat po!

Nope You don't have to wait for it. Refer to the checklist. if you dont have any national identity document just put NA. When i was applying though way back 2013 i used my prc id.
