Hi everyone,

I applied for spouse visitor visa (for 3months) on 5th feb’20 through paper based (offline)
I got correspondence letter on 17th Feb’20
Today I received a refusal mail stating that

///
Following an examination of your application, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and the Regulations for the reasons explained below. I am therefore refusing your application.

Grounds for refusal:

· A dependent spouse is eligible to apply for an open work permit if the principal foreign worker -holds a work permit that is valid for a period of at least 6 months

///

My doubt is why they refused for open work permit since I have applied for visitor visa for 3months!!? Have any chances to reapply!??

Also I received a refusal correspondence letter and the mentioned that if I need I can reapply

///
Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your temporary resident visa application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

• A dependent spouse is eligible to apply for an open work permit if the principal foreign worker -holds a work permit that is valid for a period of at least 6 months

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

What is your status? It is telling you to apply for a SOWP which you may be entitled to if you work in NOC 0, A or B.

Her permit is about to expire that is why you were refused. if she gets a new permit you can apply again.

she is going to apply for work permit extension but the processing time for extension is 100days that’s the concern. Is there any chance to visit her?! Because we are facing hard times in our life she is very weak she can’t be there alone.

No you have already been refused a TRV. You can apply for a SOWP along with her work permit extension If she works in NOC 0, A or B.

Hi @canuck78! Can I go for reapply in this case to go and visit her for one month by telling the visa officer that we have got married on jan 19 so we want to spend some quality time together in Canada!!!

Also if I get refusal second time it may be a problem if I apply for spousal open work permit after 5months from now!
