For those who have the status that look like this:

We received xxxxxxxxxxxxx's application for permanent residence on xxxxx 9, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

Base on this chart: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/redir.do?redir=app_perm_fam&lang=en&app=ecas

Equivalent na ito sa Decision Made.

Requirements for spouse visa.

Hi,

My Husband and I got married last April 30, 2011. He is a permanent Resident in Canada and we are now on the process of completing the said requirements in the checklist. But I have few questions that confuses me.

1. On my passport, my last name is still my single maiden name and it will expire on Jan 13, 2014, since i am applying for a spouse visa, is it necessary to renew my passport using my husband's last name? ::)
2. Do i need to undergo medical first and attach it to our application to CPC or the canadian embassy of manila will be the one to inform when to do the medical test?

I am first timer on the immigration forum.

Hope someone could help me with this.

Thanks in Advance!

Hi adse!

1.Its not necessary to renew your passport, since the immigration requires atleast 18 months before your passport expires. I think you have the maroon passport.

2. You have to undergo the medical exam first, medical exam confirmation is on the checklist or Appendix A.

Hope it helps po!...welcome po sa forum! ;)

yup sis sideangel85 is right! but if you want to renew it with your husband's last name that would also be ok. para atleast gamit mo na last name ng husband mo..:) thats what i did. but that doesnt matter. both your maiden name and your husband's last name would be fine! :)

yup! you need to undergo medical first! :) there will two copies that will be issued by the doctor, the first copy will be sent to manila embassy by the doctor and copy2 will be sent to your husband by you, which will be included in your filing of application. :)
