It depends whether you apply inland or outland. Outland tends to be a bit quicker depending of where you come from (not true for all countries). It usually takes 12 months

Guys

Although I know there are separate threads for these queries would still appreciate your feedback.

So I have been in the pool since 11th March after CES took 5 months to evaluate both degrees. Lost points in April and currently standing at 469. I have started French lessons but by the time I appear for the test and update the profile, I would have lost more points sure to age in April 2021.

My fiance and I have living apart for this entire duration. He is a PR of Canada. We thought FSW might be the fastest way to reunite and hence that was our first option. Now it just looks the end of the tunnel with FSW.

I have heard spouse sponsorship takes a while and is taking even longer at the moment. I have a stable job in India and was recently appraised as well. Been with the company for over 3 years. My immediate family stays here and I just have a car here, no property. So what are the chances of TRV so at least we can be together for a while.

And any idea about the fastest route forward? Would really appreciate any help.

Agreed the chances of a TRV being approved are on the low side. However there is absolutely no harm in trying.

Even if a TRV is approved, you won't be able to travel to Canada at this time since there are travel restrictions in place allowing only essential travel and travel by immediate family members. You will not be classified as an immediate family members since you aren't yet married.

But again, no harm in trying for the TRV. You might get lucky.

What do you mean by long term plans exactly?

I mean how to move there for good at the earliest?
Get married as soon as you can. Submit an outland spousal sponsorship application as soona as you are married.

So I recently stumbled upon this rule by IRCC for divorcee applicants. His ex spouse was sponsored by him under spousal sponsorship and was approved but she never landed. They also got a divorce soon after. In that case, does the 3 year ban still apply? For him to sponsor a spouse again? Since she's not in the country and they are divorced.
