I hope someone can help me with this...after receiving my PR, i plan to work for about 3-4 months and then go back to my country to get married to my boyfriend..My questions:

1. do i need to have a job in order to sponsor him?

2. He was refused an Immigrant Visa(USA) and eventually, his petition was cancelled, would that be a problem if I bring him with me to Canada?

Please help me...

You don't need a job to sponsor a spouse. They may question how you and your husband plan to survive in Canada without one, so it's best to show plans to get a job and evidence that your husband is willing and able to work.
Previous attempts to immigrate or go to one of the richer Western countries are sometimes a problem. If someone has attempted to enter Canada or other Western countries several times, and then marries a Canadian, the visa officer will be suspicious that it is just a marriage of convenience. Therefore any such attempts must be explained. You should also include more evidence that you have a genuine relationship than someone without such attempts would need, and your husband will probably have to go to an interview.
But don't worry - he can still be accepted. The most important thing is to prove that your relationship with him is genuine.

He has not travelled anywhere, except for a tour package to thailand he went to, for 5 days...he was refused an immigrant visa and eventually, his family had cancelled the petition..Well ofcourse, I'll have to put that down on the background declaration form anyways..but i just hope it won't be an issue..i mean they won't be denying a visa for every tom dick and harry who had a refusal from another country right??

It was his family trying to sponsor him, and it was just one try, so I don't think it will be a problem.

If you guys were living together for over a year and you didn't inform CIC upon landing, it could become a problem. If that is indeed your situation be sure not to disclose the fact that you lived together for over a year to CIC.

you might wanna find out if the Canadians will check into the US Immigration database about the refusal..im not sure if they do that, but you have to tell them why he was refused..maybe a senior member can clarify if they do check with other countries..

On the application forms there is a section where it asks if you have ever applied for a visa to Canada or any other country, have you ever been refused a visa to C. or any other country, etc. I suggest you tell the truth here. If you don't mention it, and the visa officer finds out, you will probably be denied a visa for misrepresentation, and you will lose on appeal. If you lie on your application, and they find out, your credibility is shot and they tend to not believe anything else you say. They may not find out about it, but I've seen plenty of appeal cases where they did, and that was the reason for the refusal.
One previous application is no big deal. Just admit it and explain it, providing any proof you can.
