Hello everyone,

I am supporting my wife to apply PR and still waiting for the result, it has been 7 months since we applied and nothing is updated after sponsor approval. Below is my timeline and please share your timeline.

Oct 3, 2013 - Application Received in Mississauga.
Oct 21, 2013 - Sponsorship approved, case transfer to CPP Ottawa

Then nothing else....

You should typically hear something soon, whether it is a request for documents or your passport request. From the link in my signature you can see other CPP-Ottawa timelines. Maybe try requesting notes to see what they've done in regards to your application?

And if the applicant isn't in Canada they have to fill out this form and sign it so the sponsor can request the information on their behalf:

One thing I noted is that in the application it asks to describe your situation, and the person in the video puts 'academia'. I personally put 'member of the public' and it worked just fine.
Note that these notes take one month to be returned to you, and make sure you request an emailed version, not the paper version!! You'll get an acknowledgement email with a tracking number (useless unless it's past 30 calendar days and you haven't gotten your notes) and then ~30 days later you'll get your notes. For example I requested mine March 11th and got them April 10th.

It does, but it provides a lot of useful information as to what is going on with your application, and any notes the visa officers have written on the file. Plus, it is only 5 bucks if the applicant is out of Canada. I find them very useful.

I wouldn't worry about not hearing anything for seven months. Our application was received June 6, 2013. After S.A. in mid July, we didn't hear anything until we got his PPR at the end of April. Things went much faster after that. ECAS changed to DM a week ago and his COPR arrived yesterday.

have you heard anything yet? our application was received a little after yours and we have not heard anything since sponsorship approval, we requested notes last week, but im reading there is even a delay in that. I know this is how things go, but its so weird to see people in January and February get approved. ugh. :'( I want my husband to work lol

We have not received anything yet. We send an email asking for update last week but haven't got any response. I saw today on another thread that a applicant just got DM today, she applied around the same time as mine. What we can do right now is to be patient.
