Good day!
Need Help?!..Please advise!
I been sponsor by my wife(canadian citizen)= Oct.13, 2009
Approved by CPC Mississauga= Oct.20, 2009
Seen in eCAS, in-process(manila)= Nov.12,2009.though, i never received an acknowledgement receipt letter ..
Additional information letter received on Feb.3,2010(here in our province malinao, albay) from canadian embassy, manila dated Jan.12,2010(resent Jan.21,2010)---(asking us an explanation why there is a delay in our sponsorship since we already got married last sept.2008).
Additional information letter sent at canadian embassy= Feb. 4,2010 (via courier-LBC).

Since then,we never heard again any information from the embassy,...we updated in our status in eCAS regularly,..there is no changes though...I just wanna ask when we can follow-up regarding our case..but in CIC website stated that if your case-specific ,you can only follow-up if it exceed the standard processing time..but i dont know if it is within 6 months or 8 months?...Or is it right to just wait(but
up to what time..?)...mga kabayan patulong naman...anything you can advise ,Im grateful to hear that...you know..im sort of..WORRIED!?....thank you!

Hello Elmarc.

I'm the one who sponsored my wife from the Philippines. So you haven't sent them your passport yet since you didn't receive the AOR yet? I think you should send them an email because most of the applicants in CIC-Manila gets AOR requesting for Passport when they started processing your application.

Hello

We didn't follow up with the embassy because the 6 months processing period has not yet lapse. In your case, I strongly suggest that you follow up with them because it has been more than 6 months. The passport request is included in the AOR letter. You should have received that months ago. Did they indicate your case/ reference number in the letter they sent you wherein they asked for an explanation?... Make sure you include that number when you email them for easy identification.

I know how hard it is to wait. We were both ready to email the embassy to follow up in case the processing exceeds 6 months. Maybe your AOR was lost in the mail thus delaying your processing time. Inform them that you have not received any AOR and passport request.

Good luck :)

Hello, MP does not have anything to do with your application for sponsorship. That will be your last resort, if everything fails. It's like asking a councilor in your district to help you out with certain matters. :)

Hello, I'm fairly new to this forum - what is an AOR?

Congratulations on your visa. I have one question: did you use an immigration lawyer to do the paperwork for youself or did you just do it yourself? what do you recommend? I am getting married in philippines this Sept. 2011 to my fiancee whom I've know for 11 months now. We have genuine relationship, visited her in Jan. 2011 for the first time and spent 9 days there with her going down again in Sept. 2011 to get married. Any advice would be appreciated! Paperwork looks really complicated thats why. Thanks!
