Is your husband a permanent resident or citizen of Canada?
Absence of visits in itself will not be a negative factor. They are considering all the documentation that you have already submitted a year ago and will base their decision on them... (Unless they call you for an interview, and even then, they will look at your marriage history before applying for PR).
It is obvious that it is the Canadian immigration laws that have made you guys to live separately all this time, especially if your husband is a permanent resident of Canada, because he has to reside in Canada in order to be eligible to sponsor you. So, it's done out of necessity and does not in any way imply your marriage is fraudulent... The whole purpose of the spousal sponsorship is to be together eventually!!
So many couples have to be separated for the time of their application processing, it's absolutely normal. And not everyone has the time and resources to fly around the world for a visit, unfortunately. Or they decide to endure a little in order to save up money and be in a better financial position when the spouse does join them in Canada.
So, no worries too much, please. What's the current status of your PR application, do you know?
