Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if someone might be able to help me with fees? When we first applied for my husband's Spousal Sponsorship, our immigration consultant informed us that we had overpaid (we paid a total $1490) with our application. She said to write a cover letter and that the Canadian immigration would reimburse us at some point, which was fine.

However, we received another email today stating that we need pay another $490 for the Right of Permanent Resident fee. I've just paid this online to keep things moving along but this means we've now paid $1980 in total. I'm pretty sure I've overpaid. Does anyone have a general idea of these total costs?

Also, is there an estimated processing time once this payment has been made?

Thank you in advance!

You'll have to tell us how many people are covered in the application. Just your husband? Any dependents? If so, how many?

Also, you'd be better off posting this in the Family Sponsorship section of the forum.

I know for my Spousal Sponsorship fee, I paid 1040$ total.

Fees as follow:

Sponsor (Myself): 75$
Principal Applicant (1 person): 475$
Right to Permanent Residence Fee (which you do not need to pay upfront): 490$
Total: 1040$

Apologies for the delayed response but I didn't realise there'd been responses. The application was only for my spouse and from what CamL-W paid, it seems I've paid nearly a thousand dollars more. Sigh.

Can i be reimbursed for the excess payment?
