Spouse Sponsorship Application Returned - Please help

Sir,

My daughter, after getting married on 03.12.2016, arrived in Canada as a PR on 27.12.2016.

She submitted her application for Spouse Sponsorship on 09.01.2017 with all the necessary forms, documents and other evidences for her marriage.

However, her application was returned back on 02.02.2017 with a deficiency "Most recent Notice of Assessment from CRA not enclosed".

My question is that how she could submit the most recent Notice of Assessment from CRA as she has just arrived in the country on 27.12.2016 ??

Now, after receiving her spouse sponsorship application returned, she has filed her tax return for JUST 5 days of 2016 in order to get the most recent Notice of Assessment from CRA. However, this Notice of Assessment will not show any income of the remaining 5 days of 2016, when she was in Canada.

Kindly advise me, what documents she shall submit to make her application successful, in addition to this Notice of Assessment from CRA.

She has started working on a temporary job from 06.01.2017 for 40 hours a week and has a appointment letter for the same from the employment agency.

She has also collected a bank statement from her bank, starting from the date of establishing her account, which shows a balance of CAD 30,000 as her savings from India.

She has also joined a 1 year PG course in a college here in Toronto and has a Contract of Studentship in her hand with no OSAP, which she can submit with her sponsorship application.

What else should be submitted with her sponsorship application to make it successful ??

Did she enclosed a 2015 Notice of assessment?
Also there is something called C form you can order that from cic and attach it with application for the past 2-3 years

Did you try calling CIC? my recommendation is to re-submit the application and explain why she does not have CRA notice of assessment.

Yes Sir,

Called CIC.

They say, she has to submit the latest Notice of Assessment as per mandatory requirement of Document Checklist IMM 5533.

No answer about any further queries despite being on cell phone for 1 hour, waiting patiently for the call

Did she include a letter of explanation as to why there was no NOA included in the app?

She just included a self-declared Certificate of Support, showing a balance of CAD 30,000 in bank.

Just to be clear... Are you staying that she got married on December 3, 2016 and then landed as a PR in Canada on December 27, 2016? If these dates are correct, was her husband declared in her PR application?

She just included a self-declared Certificate of Support, showing a balance of CAD 30,000 in bank.

The NOA is not a mandatory form. It even states right on the checklist, that if not including it you should "provide an explanation on a separate sheet of paper".

If she didn't include a detailed explanation (simple enough one that she wasn't residing in Canada so couldn't file taxes), that would be the reason they returned the app.

Just to be clear... Are you staying that she got married on December 3, 2016 and then landed as a PR in Canada on December 27, 2016? If these dates are correct, was her husband declared in her PR application?

From old posts... she had PR status a long time ago and just recently won H&C case to maintain after not meeting RO. So non-declaration is not an issue.

It states right in the app to submit a letter of explanation if there is no NOA. All she needed to include was letter stating that she has never filed taxes in Canada and therefore cannot provide an NOA.

I received my application back stating their was missing documentation.

I sent the application by courier including mt passport, proof of employment, proof of status in canada but they returned the fors saying these documents were missing.

I kept a copy of the application I sent including all backup,


What can I do in this instance? I tried calling the contact centre but they were no help.
