Thank you so much for the welcome and congratulations to those who are getting their visa....and to those who are still waiting...don't lose hope! I saw on another forum post that there were problems with the ECAS system sending out multiple requests for medicals when they had already been done. Not sure what happened there.

My husband actually is a resident of the UAE (since 2008), not a resident of Syria or Jordan so hopefully they will send his application to Abu Dhabi if needed.

I'm amazed at all the wonderful people on this forum. Canada needs more people and will be an even greater country as it continues to welcome people from all over the world.

Will keep you posted. I noticed that there wasn't an April 2015 outbound thread...but not sure if another thread is needed :)

Take care all!

C.

I am a Canadian citizen studying (MS) here in Canada. MY wife a Pakistani citizen is living and working in Abu Dhabi with two Canadian citizen kids (son 9 years and daughter 5 years).

Application submitted : 20th Nov 2014 (through a famous lawyer Lawyers in Toronto)
AOR Received : 12th Feb 2015
SA Received : 24th Feb 2015
Upfront Medical Done : 14th September 2014

Application has been transferred to Abu Dhabi VO

Waiting for AOR2 from Abu Dhabi VO. : No updates

yesterday i contact my lawyer he said ADVO won't be happy if we will send them an eamil asking current status.
Then i contacted my local MP if he can help us to speed up the process but received he can't for the time being

Good afternoon Abassi,
Thank you for your message. The current processing times based on a complete application package are 13 months. I understand you are eager to have your family here but your file still falls within the processing time indicated by CIC.
If we can be of further assistance to you as the 13 month timeline approaches please let us know. During this time keep an eye on the progress of your file by checking the status online http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp and if you have any concerns please let us know.
Kindest regards,
MP office

Its been more than two months but we haven't received any acknowledgement (AOR2) from ADVO). No change in ECase. it should say medical received or in progress but no change.

Usually they are like that. Even my consultant told me that don't email them too much within the processing times, they get annoyed. The online status check is useless don't even go by that, I received my ADR without even them updating it online, they updated my online status in Octorber 2014 and I sent in my application in March of last year.

As CANCIT mentioned- ADVO is not very keen on sending out AOR. They will only send for Additional Documents ( if required ) within 3-4 months from the time of your Sponsorship Approval. In regards to ECAS - some members have a mental fatigue checking it everyday, but to be honest it is not very reliable and should be taken with a grain of salt.

To know what exactly is going on with your case, you should look into ordering GCMS notes. All the best.
