Spouse sponsorship Abu Dhabi office

Yes haldashti, my husband sent our application to Mississauga office n it reached to them on 29th Dec, 2014. since then we are counting days and its just a torture. we are waiting for SA then will apply for TRV. i hope & pray for quick process for all of us as we are going through the same painful situation.

Please keep me/us posted. Similar to you, we are planning to apply for TRV once (hopefully/Insha'allah) we get the SA. Keep your hope up and hang in there. We got married 3 months ago, but I had to come back quickly to Canada, work, etc.. and hate the wait. I wish they would it make easier and simply give our spouses a Tourist Visa once the application is in process. What's the harm? The sponsor can be held legally, by whatever means need be, to make this possible. Maybe I'm naive but the process is not rocket science and surely there are ways to improve it.. Good luck..

We also got ppr and sent the passport to advo last week. I wonder how long it will take to get it back? Anyone know typically how long it takes? We Live in dubai.

thank you Arad, it is usually 13 working days(2 and half weeks) fromthe day they receive ur pp. but can be maximum 4 weeks too. according to Jenpin, she mentioned that her pp was there for a month..

Spousal application applied for my wife in Abu Dhabi: March 2014

Received email from Canadian Embassy Abu Dhabi to submit the passport: Oct 2014

Passport Submitted: Oct 2014

Visa stamped: Oct 2014

Wife landed as PR: Nov 2014


My two cents ....... It is a common understanding that once you have applied for spousal sponsorship, you cannot apply for the visit visa for your spouse and she/he can not visit Canada and live with you while your application is in process ...... this is absolutely wrong ..... After applying for spousal sponsorship for my wife ...I immediately applied for her visit visa and I attached a letter with the visit visa application mentioning honestly that my wife's immigration application is under process and since the process takes time my wife would like to visit Canada and see me and there is no reason why she will stay in Canada more than the authorized days because her immigration application is already underway.

Applied for visit visa: April 2004 ... Got 2 years multiple visit visa visa in 3 weeks ...... she came to Canada in May 2014 and only went back to UAE in Oct 2014 to get her Immigration Visa stamped and came back to Canada as PR in couple of weeks.

So, I will say don't wait and give it a try ....... it has no effect on your spousal application and you can live together while your application is in process.

happy for u lonely wife. Im sure ur not lonely anymore. I sent my passport to VO Manila las Jan 65they received it on the 7th but until now I havent receive it. I hope for those who are waiting they will hear good news soon.

Atleast u will know what they are doing on. Ur file! If they asked us re-medicals means everything else has passed!

Also Igay, don't worry, u will get ur pp back soon bcz it's out of. Uae that u sent so. It wl take little longer to come back 2 uae..
I'm stil waiting for. Ppr letter..lets all keep d faith..

Trying to learn some of lingo here/the whole process, could you please tell me what 'gcms notes' are? You mentioned via e-mail.. e-mail to whom? At what point these 'gcms notes' are relevant/available?

Hi Haldashti, gcms notes are the ones that ur file officer writes abt u n ur wife. As in relationship is genuine or. Not, photos look good or not, fone bills, medicals, eligibility, criminal. Chks, security. Officer also. Mention if u passed fr p.r or not..
U can order it online on cic website, for a 5$ fees, it wl take 30 days. To arrove in ur email. I ordered mine in. Dec n got in january. It has detailed info abt my case.
U shud only order it wen u get to see medical received on ur ecas coz until this, notes wl be empty cz he didnnt even start on ur file!

Thank you lonelywife for the information and the quick response. I am presuming that I can only start checking ECAS once the file is in process for SA? Also, the date that you listed for appl filed, is that the date you sent your file for SA? Or is it the date that your file was transferred to ADVO?
