Actually I am the sponsor and my wife is the Applicant - I do see your point about the background check and it could very well depend on the applicants nationality. I shall order the notes by this week.

I believe you are all clear on your security check and medicals right ? or still pending ?
Oh ok I see, fr me my husband is the applicant.. its so hard with a little baby, I pray that u also get some good news soon frm. Advo.
Criminality says passed, medical says passed, security shows blank 15(s). Something
I've no ideaa what else they want now. Its jus a waiting game. :(
I suggest u go to immigration uae office in bur dubai and they wiill extend ur visa no worries. Then u can exit n enter Oman dubai border. Cad pp is easy to extend uae visa..

Hi,

1. You can apply for visit visa while your application is under process.
2. It wont impact your application. and does not need your exit stamp for next steps. as long as you do not breach allowed stay duration you are ok.
3. Visit visa for immigration applicant is not very easy, unless you show them very strong ties, like your employment, attending any school or college, other family ties etc. As the VO assumes that once you are issued visit visa you wont return back. you need to prove them otherwise.

Ohhkk thanks again for the beneficial info.
Well i want to attend my brother in Law wedding, so if i present them the wedding invitation card plus my employment letter, would it be sufficient to prove that i will return and won't overstay.
i think they may hold my visit visa once they will come to know that my husband is there, so its quite obvious for them that i will not come back. is it??

Does anyone here know the visa (extension/renewal) process for Visitors visiting UAE, with Canadian or USA Passport ?

hi impresso welcome to UAE and good luck, well you can try to see canadian embassy AD but if i tell my experience they don't assist you in person. my husband took me to ADVO when he was on UAE visit we drove to abu dhabi but it was 100% useless.
i think canadian passport holder can easily extend their visas but i heard there are some new rules about non extension of tourist visa so will suggest you to extend it ASAP.
if i see your timeline, your file was transferred to ADVO in june, 2014, so there should be some good news soon inshaAllah. i am getting scared to see the status of all of you senior members :(
may God bless us all.

no worries! i would strongly recommend to apply in person at advo.
you can try for the visit visa if she can show strong ties to come back to uae such as school, college, employment, fee paid for
some course, family members in uae...
its hard to get a visit visa coz the p.r is in process.
i will suggest to wait when she gets a file number for p.r visa . bcz u have to mention the p r file #...... this this is also in process at ur visa office.
you will get file # in 60 days then additional docs IF REQUIRED by them in another 2 months more.
according to me my file is checked every 2 months.. so expect a response every 60 days or max 90 days..
My wife lives in Kuwait, but she can not go to UAE. Can I (sponsor) apply in person on her behalf for vistor's visa? Have you/others on this forms gone to the embassy to apply for their spouses? Are we talking a day's trip/more? Would the initial response/letter(after 60 days), indicate whether the application was approved(as the guide says), or would it simply idndicate that the application has been transfered to ADVO?

When they told me it'll be cold in Canada, I never thought it would be this freaking cold.

Hey guys, sorry I have been away for a while. End of this week, I will have been in Canada for a month.

The landing process was smooth at the Toronto Airport, all the while time consuming because of the queue. Just make sure you have all the documents mentioned in the letter that comes with the CPR.

Good luck to all of you guys, I hope you're united with your loved ones soon, inshaAllah.

Hi all,

I know I havent been around lately but I have been coming back once in a while for updates and have been reading your posts.

For all who want to personally visit the Embassy in Abu Dhabi to follow up on the status of your application, I would suggest you write to them coz the Embassy wont entertain any follow-up for PR applications in person. It says so on their website. However, you may go and enquire about your Passport if 10 to 13 working days have lapsed since you submitted your Passport for the stamping of the PR visa.

For all who want to apply for a TRV, you may do so after getting your Sponsorship Approval and write a letter to the Embassy stating that your PR application is in process and you want to visit your spouse in Canada for a couple of days as you miss each other terribly (try to make it emotional). You also need to provide proof that you will not over-stay and will return back for the complete processing of your PR application.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Azaan. It will be of no use to writing CIC about this imminent location status change as it would send 'expected' PPR anywhere you are located. But I pray that your application complete before the expiry of your Iqama, InshaAllah.

I dont think writing an email saying that your Iqama is going to expire is going to speed up the process. You may write to them stating that it has been 12 months since your application was submitted and you would like to know the status of your application. The ADR letter that I received from ADVO said that the average processing time for family class applications is 6 to 12 months so maybe you could quote that when writing to them. However do keep in mind that the ADVO will take upto 15 business days to reply back and may not reply at all sometimes. When I wrote to them about 6 times enquiring about my Passport saying I was travelling within 10 days, they didnt reply to even one email.

Just have hang in there a little longer. You've come this far so dont lose hope now!!
