I think it was just the agent responsible for my file. I was with my husband in UAE when I sponsored him, and according to our relocation plan, I moved back to Canada July 2013 anticipating that he would get his visa within a month and join me here. Even though all of our documents were complete since March 2013, nothing was being processed and they never replied to any of our e-mails. I had to get assistance from my MP office in Canada and only when they contacted them that things started to move slowly in December, so they informed the MP that the documents were complete and that my husband would just need to re-do his medical to get the visa. I don't know maybe if I was still with him in UAE we could've been waiting until now :s

Did you get a request for additional documents to be submitted before you got PP request. Please can you share what additonal documents ADVO requested.

Thanks.

this could be a dumb question, but what is an 'MP office'... is it sumwhere u can call and reach out for, in case there is delay or u want to follow-up with the VO? i have applied for the CAIPS notes, and my wife and I are under the assumption that the VO is sending our mails/letters to the wrong address... we hope to know that when we get our CAIPS notes... now my question is, is there any way to follow-up/contact/chase the VO or like reach them as to query if something has been evidently going wrong? if you are thinking about email, myself (and many others) have been very, VERY disappointed by their ignorance about email communication, therefore email is not a viable option...

Yes, when my file was transferred to Abu Dhabi July 2012, they acknowledged it Oct and sent me a request for additional documents on early December asking for the residency questionnaire. Then in January 2013 they asked for a police clearance from Saudi Arabia. Those were the main ones. Now I heard that if they don't ask for additional documents, your process time becomes shorter because I think every time they ask for additional documents your file is scheduled for a re-visit date, which could be 3 months sometimes.

It's Member of Parliament Office. CIC actually has a "dedicated CIC MP inquiry office" and members of parliament in each region have the right to use this service to follow up on immigration files from visa offices overseas. I learned about this from a friend of mine who had her MP contact Abu Dhabi Visa office because as you know they hardly reply to e-mails, but when a request comes from the MP they give them the updates on the file, and the MP can follow up on your file every 3 months. When you contact the MP office they usually ask for the file number and the first and last name of the person you are sponsoring as well as your name and address information.
I'm not sure what CAIPS notes are.

Thanks for the info. Just one question, did you do your medicals in Jan 2013 or 2014 coz the information under your name says 2013 but I believe you posted 2014 somewhere on the thread.

Do let us know when your visa is issued.

Congratulations once again!!

so they really have re-visit dates.. How long will they (ADVO) update us after sending additional documents? I always think about my application and getting frustrated about this waiting time.....

Asim can you please share with us if you have some letter of support from relatives in Canada. Also if you could share the letter of intention to move to Canada or the plan to establish there. I also invite other members of this forum to please share stuff like this (of course after editing it for personal stuff) so others could benefit out of it.

Thank you all.
