Were you able to access ECAS soon after SA or after receiving AOR from ADVO?

In your sponsorship approval letter from CIC Canada the UCI should be in it at the very beginning. Use that number with your sponsors information and it should open your E-case. Until now ours only opens with my information (i'm the sponsor).

Wed, Oct 23, 2013 we received an email from abu dhabi office asking for some documents
by the time we gathered and translated and attested them it was nov 28

Tue, May 28, 2013 6:17am (canada time)
we received an email from abu dhabi office asking for
Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)
and
Proof that your Canadian Citizen sponsor is currently residing in Canada or will reside in Canada when you become a permanent resident
(to which my lawyer gave all my canadian links (bank account credit card) and responded that i will cancel my uae visa (i am the sponsor) once we know when the application is approved, as I cannot just send a cancelled uae visa and sit waiting)
and
Your original police certificate (which we had already sent to them but they hadnt updated their records (so my lawyer sent the proof of courier reciept)

Subject: - Acknowledgement of Receipt Letter
this was from from abu dhabi as well
"This is to confirm that we have received your application for permanent residence in Canada.
The current average processing time for Family Class: Spouses/partners and dependent children is 6 to 12 months. We do not respond to status enquiries for cases being processed within the above standards.
When we are ready to issue your visa, your sponsor will be asked to pay the Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF), "

Thanks for posting that letter. It's a big relief for my self because my wife was just asked to submit proof or evidence that I currently reside in Canada and will be residing here after she becomes a permanent resident. I submitted my pay slips, bills, tax filings ect as affidavit.

It has been 4 months since we submitted the application and everything went smoothly so far.

In regards to the affidavit, was it addressed from you or from a friend or family member to ADVO????
and also if its ok can you tell me how you wrote it??? i need to write one but i'm not sure how to go about doing that.

I am a wife of a Canadian man . we both work in saudi arabia , so i never been to canada yet, he applied to sponsor me so we can live in canada, I received an email from them asking me to send my passport and 3 photos and a proof that my husband is going back to canada, the problem is we want to stay one more year in saudi , so what should we do now, we don't want to loose this chance, but we still need more money, so please what do you suggest?

Hi Ghadeer,

If you dont want to move to Canada right away, you may withdraw your application however I would not suggest that as it may create complications when you resubmit the application when you are finally ready to move.

One of our forum members mentioned that the Visa Office will ask for cancellation of the residence visas before issuing the Canada visa. And proof that your sponsor will move back to Canada will probably require resignation from his present job, cancellation of residence visa, etc.

May I ask when you submitted your application?

Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes to get a passport request once the medical is resubmitted? My husband received the medical request from AD visa office in January and completed it January 13,2014. He sent an e-mail on the 25th to inquire if the results are received and what the duration is to move to the next step, but we still didn't get a response. We were told prior to this that our documents are complete and that the visa office will be in a position to issue the visa once the medical is done (the first medical expired in April 2013).
Did anyone have to resubmit his/her medical? I would like to get a rough idea of the wait time.

After receiving Sponsorship Approval in Sept 2013, you didnt hear from Abu Dhabi VO until 16th Feb 2014 and directly get a request for additional documents and passport?

Maybe if you provide proof that your husband will return to Canada, they will issue a visa immediately with a validity for a couple of months or a year or so. I am sure they understand that you need time to wind up stuff before moving to Canada.

If you read previous posts on this thread, some applicants based in Kuwait and Qatar havent been asked to cancel their residency and have got visa with a validity of 4 months, 6 months, 1 year, etc.

Can you advise when you did your medicals and did you get an AOR from ADVO so I may add you in the sheet.

Actually my husband got the passport request a few hours after I sent this post! I am relieved that this long process is finally coming to an end! I hope you all get great news this month as well! Good luck to everyone

That could be possible, however others who have submitted in 2012 got it in a span of 7 months.

Just hoping they don't hold applications for so long, 1 year is a long time as it is. :

I think it was just the agent responsible for my file. I was with my husband in UAE when I sponsored him, and according to our relocation plan, I moved back to Canada July 2013 anticipating that he would get his visa within a month and join me here. Even though all of our documents were complete since March 2013, nothing was being processed and they never replied to any of our e-mails. I had to get assistance from my MP office in Canada and only when they contacted them that things started to move slowly in December, so they informed the MP that the documents were complete and that my husband would just need to re-do his medical to get the visa. I don't know maybe if I was still with him in UAE we could've been waiting until now :s
