I agree with loveu, apply online and then try to send it thru DHL or Aramex as priority mail..I guess you'll get it within 3 days or maximum 5days.

Good luck and God Bless :)

Good luck and God Bless :)

From Abu Dhabi only JP McCulloch clinic is approved for CA medical. When you go there for medial they presume that you are a FSW class and ask for medical request from embassy as it usually take FSW visa processing longer than a year. You need to tell them that you are requesting for upfront medical for the Family Sponsor class.
I applied on 6th Nov 2013. got sponsor's approval on 29th Nov 2013 via email. now hoping for an early processing from Abu Dhabi VO.
If you have not been able to get your medical done yet, you should try it again and update your records with Abu Dhabi VO by sending your confirmation of eMedical.

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me the current expected duration for spouse sponsorship? The CIC says its taking 18 months but some of the threads on this forum are saying its taking around 20-24 months? I am an Indian working in Kuwait and my fiance is a Canadian PR. Also, since I am Indian, can I apply to New Delhi Visa office as I heard the processing time is faster than Abu Dhabi there.

Experts please help.

Thanks!

18 months! here is the link to assert that...: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

also, u cannot apply in new delhi's office since you are a resident of Kuwait i think... unless you want to move to India and wait your 9 months (which is NDVO's processing time)...

Thank you TheRippleEffect. Is there anyway I can get it done faster. Like having a civil wedding before the official marriage so that we cut down on waiting time? is it advisible to do that? or can I go there on a student visa to study and then apply in Canada itself?

Thanks again!

student visa could get you there early... but u will have to lie and stuff... dun really recommend that... i chose the regular spouse sponsorship... it will take time.. but i will at least get there on a genuine way... i'd rather wait a lil and stay authentic than rushing the go and fake stuff... dun rush it.. u could bring ur wife to kuwait and wait if that's an option... i am doing that right now... f*** CA immigration.. i got a job here and enjoying my life wid my wife... just weigh and see which option better suits you... after all once you go to CA its not that you will get a job right away... we often fail to realize what we need... happiness or money/standard of living...

Yes you are right TheRippleEffect. My problem is it will be two years that we have stayed apart by the time we get married this December, and then again waiting for 18 months is already burning me out. Another thing is and correct me if I am wrong, she is PR, so she has to stay in Canada till I get my PR right?

Thanks again!

true... she has to stay in canada... but then does she qualify as a sponsor?

Scoobydoo33,

Im curious about your timeline.

I applied for Abu Dhabi office as well and when my spouse went to get her meds done, the clinics in UAE requested a letter from the Visa office that officially invites the applicant for the meds. I submitted everything without the meds and the file was transferred back in October. Was this the same case with you in regards to med?

Did they ask for any additional documents? As far as I know, our relationship was genuine and all the proof was there in a very organized manner. My spouse also studied in Canada so there wont be any issue, hopefully.

But your time line is very reasonable for someone who had all the documents readily available. If the same time line applies to me, my spouce will receive her documents by April, hopefully.

Look forward for your feedback.
