God is giving me happiness in a very hot pot so that i cannot taste even. got SA but with the London VO, which is ridiculous and no idea on what basis. ;(
my husband tried calling them but no answer so he is writing them an email to consider and review my generic application form again and change our VO. is it possible guys??

Hi Zbaby. Glad to hear you got the SA. Writing them is a good idea, but I also suggest you/husband keep trying to call. I know how frustrating it is to call especially on Mondays, but from experience, it is possible to get through, try first thing in the morning, and/or end of day. Did they email you about the SA, or send you/husband a letter? We applied about 2 weeks after you, so awaiting anxiously.. Good luck.

Still nothing yet. I agree with you I think our visa officer has slept on this. I mean the last correspondence was 8 months ago. Does it really take that long to review additional documents...

This is just a theory but I believe that all this response time is planned out. From my understanding a Visa Office needs to maintain their average processing time, in that case they will have to pool applications into quick and slow response so that the average time line is kept. That would then allow certain applications in the quick pool and certain applications in the slow pool ( where you have the sleepy officers ) - Again this is just a theory and not actual facts - everyone's comments and thoughts are welcomed.

theses two are the responsible to finalize your applications , and also the item before application assignment which is ( paper file )
you can also compare the location for each of you

Now !! what usually happ after this ? How long does it take on an average to recieve any correspondence after this??

Congrats on your SA (Sponsorship Approval ) - give it about 2-4 months for Abu Dhabi to get in touch with you IF they need any Additional Documents (ADR). If all your documents are in order they may not even ask for anything. All the best.

Mabrook on the SA - Would there be any possible reason why London VO ? Definitely give them a call, you have to get hold of someone and explain to them the situation. The processing time for London VO isn't as great as it used to be before.

London does that UAE applications but only for Start Up Visa and Self Employed Visa from UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia & Yemen - they also take Family Sponsorship from Pakistan. So I do not see a reason why they would sent it there. Do let us know.

Hi Impresso, Does SA, always equate to file transfer? Do they happen at the same time? Also, do you know if the security clearance differs between countries, i.e Kuwait vs U.E.A? Lastly, if possible might be useful to add a new column to the sheet indicating country of residence? Different countries, different protocols, i.e medicals, etc.. Just a thought.. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can consider that , give or take a few days for the Mail to Arrive - the reason I say is in my notes the last touch was in Mississauga on 23 June 2014 and surprising enough App Rec'd by ADVO on 29 June 2014, but they only updated the file on 7th July 2014. Believe it takes them some time to go through the file itself to request for any additional documents if they are not satisfied.

Security Clearance is broken down into two 1) The Criminality Check and 2) Security Clearance which allows the officer to determine if the applicant is safe for Canadian Soil and does not pose any threat to the country.

Criminality Check is based on the police clearance certificates you provide which is usually verified by the local police department and additional police clearance is required if the applicant resided in another country for longer than 6 months in the last 10 Years if I am not mistaken. These verification do take a little longer if the local police department are not quick enough to reply and it varies from country to country, some are quick some are slow.

The Security Clearance is the fun part and is not in ADVO hands - They have to reach out to various organisations to get a go ahead for the applicant and the list of organisation is also in accordance to/not limited to Where you reside , your country of birth , your past visited countries , your relationship and it is quite intense and takes the most time. This is sort of the same security clearance they do when you are at the airport and they feel like something is up with your name and they make you sit for a few hours - this is what they verify. Once all the agencies/organisations come back giving a green light - you are good to go.

It is very possible to do it in within a day but due to the large number of applicants coming into ADVO , we can certainly expect some delays.

We had this discussion on this new column not to long ago and how comfortable some of the members were in disclosing country of residence - we didn't get a huge response. But I am up for it as long as others on this thread are comfortable sharing the information.

Another thing to keep in mind is that - the applications in the Visa Offices operate on a " Next Touch Date " - For example once the file hits the Immigration Officers Desk on 25th March - he checks what needs to be done, updates the files, see if any doc is pending or requested and puts a " Next Touch Date" for .. lets say 20th April . Only on 20th April will the file be reopened checked for updates or what needs to be done and you get another " Next Touch Date"

These Next Touch Dates could be Week(s) or Could be Months(s) - Makes you wonder eh !
