No.

Your question is slightly ambiguous, but in almost all interpretations, the answer is a firm no. The only one there is a risk is if you're applying as common law partners - once you establish common law through living together for a year it does endure if you separate, but if you had been physically separated for many years with no contact, it might be a struggle to prove it continued.

Thank you for the answer. The only reason I'm asking is because my boyfriend and father to my child has been gone for about 8 months and I don't have the money for us to go and visit right now. Probably not going to see him for a couple months still...just wanted to make sure that wasn't a huge problem.
