spouse open work permit

hi everyone

can anyone help in my case
I am working as a practical nurse ( casual part time) in Canada. When I was a ( international) student, my husband came on my student visa in a open work permit basis. I graduated as a practical nurse from Canada. As my student visa expired, I got my post graduate work permit. Along with mine, his open work permit also expired. I didn't find a nurse job immediately. So I applied for his extension visa on visitor visa basis. Now he on visitor visa in Canada. I got my Nursing job a week back on casual part time basis, but I am getting enough hours, that is 33 hours per week.
Can I apply for a conversion of his visitor to open work permit on my nursing job?
I also wanted to know if CIC accepts casual part time practical nurse job for my case or is it compulsory to have a full time job as a nurse?

I don't have any answers for you but in fact will bother you with a question since I am graduating by the end of this month and probably be facing similar situation. What do you mean by Visitor work visa .. wasn't he on a dependents work visa ?

Looks like you are on a visitor status with no valid work permit in hand.

I have post graduate work permit.... but my husband doesn't have...he is on visitor visa. I am in a NOC B job. so I was wondering if I could apply for an open work permit for him as he is here. I mean like conversion.

well as per CIC you should be able to.. I dont see a reason why not ? the CIC website clearly mentions that you can if you hold a job under 0, A or B noc codes. Best is to call CICand clear it out in case you have further questions

Hi! I would like to find some information on how does spouses of international student could obtain an open work permit. This inquiry is for my cousin who just got his Student Permit but did not include his wife on his application for study permit but he did added her as his wife. She is from Philippines but is now working in Dubai. So our questions are:

1. Could she apply ONLINE?
2. Would it be easier for her to apply in Philippines or in Dubai?
3. Does she need proof of funds for her application?
4. Would anyone help us by sending us a link on how to get started?
