So it means I have applied on 22 March online so my file will be processed within next 20 days

Nope you calculate as per days... for example i applied on 9th may... So i will keep checking and hearing toll free number.. for dates they processing plus i add 20 days in that it will help you to figure when ur application is going to open ...

And you know this thing is going so off.... i saw people getting SOWP in 3 days...to 120 days in India... Recently some of them applied on 29th April.. they got the approvals in 36 days..

You should contact CIC if it doesn't work out go to your Local MP of your area they will get back to you with results in 1 week.

Oh what really I need to visit the MP? But how I come to know my file is in processing or not ?

Because you dint receive any update on your application and processing time has already been passed... You can let your MP know all your details and they contact High Commission Canada In Delhi... on your behalf to get the status and chek what;s gng on with your appli.

MP helps.. :)

Sid

Linked application online:- 6th June (the god the application status was open as the 30 days to submit medicals had been passed)
Medical submission :- 6th June (through CSE explaining the reason for late submission as the mail was received in the spam folder)
Medical approved :- 15th June

Very happy. Thanks everyone.

You are welcome. Generally you could reapply for extension as long you have whats needed for it. But I have heard from others specific to PGWP that one shouldn't apply too much in advance for his / her extension. But you also need your SOWP application which would be in trouble if you only have less than six months left in your current WP (CIC doesn't go that far to evaluate if you are eligible for renewal or not), your best bet is to apply for both together i.e. your renewal + your SOWP. You can submit them together online although spouse might still be processed outside of Canada depending upon her home country. Without applying for extension, there is little chance of approval for your spouse.

Hi FKL. I got my passport today, and asked my consultant if I can go ahead and apply for my work permit extension and my wife's SOWP. They said I would not be able to submit the applications unless there is less than 90 days left on my current work permit.

I know they have far better understanding with the processes, but wouldn't it be an advantage if my extension + SOWP is applied in advance?

By the way, we have submitted our PR application already and it's on its way to Sydney, NS (if this info is of any help regarding our background)

Thanks again!
