Spouse Open Work permit

Hi,. I would like to get some informations from you guys regarding SOWP.
Our permanent residency application in currently on process under the live-in caregiver program. my questions are:
1. can I sponsor my husband under SOWP?
2. are there any qualifications needed in order to apply for SOWP? (education, work experience)
3. In form IMM1295, what should I put in DETAILS OF INTENDED WORK IN CANADA

I will greatly appreciate any help from you guys regarding this.

With your situation, I think you should be working in high skilled job (i.e. NOC A,B or O).It's pretty easier for SOWP when you are a graduate student.

Can i submit my passport to vfs office even if i submitted online application for sowp. Or i need to submit it directly to consulate delhi...? Please reply.

yes you need to submit the passport with your nearest vfs along with your passport request letter.

Submitted online application through a consultancy in canada. They submitted online application on april 28. I did nt get any confirmation from my agency for passport submission till now. My sowp and daughters visiting visa at the same time

i submit mine last april 27 online application here in canada for my wife. She got her medical last may 4. And cic updated last may 8 passed the medical exams. Till. now no update on her cic.

We applied for the SOWP on 26 March, to answer ur previous questions, yes, there have been 3-4 instances when a mail has been received that the application has been updated but turns out, there isnt any update. Also, ther processing times vary by the Visa offices handling the case. In our case, it is one of the Indian VOs. Considering there would be a great deal of rush with study permit apps and vacation season, expect some delays.

But my experience says, if it crosses 30 days and file is still in process, it should be positive. Fingers crossed.

Even we got like 3 mails telling us your account has been updated when we login and check nothing changed.

But Recently on May 7th we got a mail when i check medicals review in progress. But we did not submit any medicals.

Did you get any mail like that?

Lets hope for the best and iam a skilled worker NOC B and iam also nominated under BC PNP my wife name included in the pnp application. with that nomination and my job offer i applied Spouse open work permit for my wife through lawyer in canada online.
