Spouse Open Work permit

Hello,

On my open work permit there is a clause that says "Not authorized to work in health service field", does this mean I'm allowed to work as a receptionist at a medical clinic or not? Since technically receptionist is a job that belongs in the Administration field. I've asked my lawyer and I'm trying to get through to CIC customer service (no luck so far)... I want to hear your opinions or experience as well.

you can't work as doctor or dentist but admin is fine no issue

My medical was done on April 6. It has been more than 15 days. I'm just worried now.. Hope all goes well and soon!

Applied April 15 2015 for Spouse Open Work Permit from Chandigarh. Medical done Upfront. Tracking says - "Your application is being processed at...........". Any idea people how many days does it take to get this work permit?

Congrats Devang, chances for rejection at this stage are highly remote. You would sail through, don't worry.

Could you share your timelines and the VO as well?

I applied sowp online application from canada on april 28. Did nt get any updates till now. I dont have access to mycic, as my agent is doing it. Hope for the best. I think u may get with in 10 days.

Vfs guys says it takes 20-25 working days to process your application and rest varies case to case... Sometimes they take more time for verification and all. So, cant say specifically how long it will take.
On cic site, processing time for work permit is 4 months at chandigarh office...

Currently, work permit processing time is showing 6 months for Singapore office. Do I have to submit my passport with the application? Since, the processing time is long, I might need my passport while the application is being processed. Is it possible to submit the photocopy? Thanks

Hi! My husband holds a post graduation work permit and hi has a job NOC B, he is working 40 hours every week, but the employer wrote in the job letter that he is a part time employee. I applied to extend my open work permit. Is there any problem if the letter says part time? Thank you
