Hello,

I applied for my wife's Spousal Open Work Permit online, rejected first as the application form does not give an option to choose Spousal Open Work Permit and was denied stating that you are not eligible, again applied online and again rejected stating the purpose of visit and your personal assets and financial status. However on the online application there is no space to send my documents I have a post graduate open work permit and working in a skilled category, that qualifies my wife but they refused twice without even asking for my documents.

Would it be advisable to do paper application where we can include all supporting documents. Please please help ! Planning to apply third time. will be very helpful if someone can suggest.

Hi Priyankaj,

Only do paper application thru VFS, my wife's online got refused twice.

Where does it ask for the Police Certificate ? Medical Certificate? He can take a pre medical exam for sure.

Here is the checklist of the documents needed for OWP , there is no separate list for SOWP.

You attach your OWP and your bank statements and pay stubs and Notice of assessments and Proof of employment : Letter from ur company stating ur duties and get it mentioned the skill level and NOC code you work under. I am consulting an immigration lawyer as i m gonna apply 3rd time. email me on apardhamija1 @ yahoo.com will try and help whatever I come to know.

thank you so much for replying back
so Police Certificate is not requires
and what i mean from "medical certificate" means is Pre-Medical Exam.
Once you consult with lawyer-can you give more details like where you gonna mention that its SOWP and how will you show that you will come back India and you have strong tie up with India

@fkl after 3 months of waiting my SOWP is now approved thank you so much to you my friend you've been very helpful to me before +1 to you bro and more blesssings to you and your family

Hi All,

Does anyone know how to include all spouse's documents who is currently in canada initially in the online application. Please please suggest its a vital information, please share. As the application only allows to send documents of the applicant and not the spouse who has the Open Work Permit.

Hi
Can anyone tell me. When I m on TRV with PGWP and my PR application is still in process(I.e the decision still not made on it) During that time, can my Spouse apply for SOWP from India based on my work permit?
Please guide mE......
I have heard that if I have PR then only way my Spouse can come to Canada is by applying his PR. But when my PR application just in Process; not yet decided and I m still on TRV and PGWP then can he still apply for SOWP? Being my PR Application in process can anyway effect negatively on my SOWP?

Hi Priyankaj,

Ur spouse can still apply for SOWP. Did you include his name and fill all forms as an accompanying partner while applying for your PR ?
In case you did then did you get the AOR? In case he has been mentioned as an accompanying partner in ur PR and you have got the AOR then in his application you shud include those details and I wud suggest to consult a lawyer as then it becomes a case of dual intent.
Have you applied for CEC ? Do let me also know what all documents did you submit for your spouse in case if you included spouse.

Thank you so much for replying
I have applied my PR just for me no indication of my. spouse in fact that time was not even married. So now as I need my spouse with me here, I was thinking that he can apply SOWP. So can he apply ? He is in India. Also does he have to mention that I have applied for PR?
Also,Can u tell me some lawyer name. May be the same that you are consulting.
