As for TA/RA, I have no idea... I am not that concerned about it at the moment. I believe I will have a TA, which doesn't count as Canadian experience? (And yes, it's not continuous, only a semester or two per year). I suppose it's like that on all the universities in Canada. I wonder how PhD students meet this requirement, then.
