Spouse Open Work permit

Hello everyone,

i'm going to apply renew SOWP for my husband. He has to get TRV and find job in Toronto.

Considering current immigration rules, employers are hesitating to give job offer who those hold TRV.

Also i'm planning to apply for FSW2014 noc 2173, me as principal appicant and my husband as dependant in FSW application.

Some employers are ready to give job offer for those who got PER(positive eligibility review) which is confirmation from CIO for further processing of FSW

In this case, does employers give job offer for my husband where he is a dependant in FSW ?

I'm also in similar situation, already have WP which is about to expire in Aug 2014. wondering whether to apply FSW with me as Primary Applicant or dependant of my wife. Experts, Please suggest.

when did u submit ur application.....
i submitted on 2nd june paper based vfs bangalore....still today no updates.....

i Applied on 24 may and they asked additional doucment on 6 june and i submit 16 of june after that no reply it was online application.

I am working as food service supervisor in canada,applied pr recently and completed medical for me and my family(wife and 4 yr son),my question is
is it better to apply visitor visa for both of them or sowp for spouse & visitor for son.But many people says ,my wife is not working(she is house wife) in india. she worked three years back for 2 years. so i will not get sowp. and also many says visitor visa is getting rejected.

Totally worried what to apply? pls help me.

My spouse submitted his education documents i.e. degree certificates and marksheets (photocopy/truecopy) when we applied for his sowp.

hi guys we have been approved for AINP last nov 21 2013 and our papers is currently in CIO-s waiting for PPR for Permanent residency i heard that if you are a PNP or your wife is a PNP you are eligable for applying for open work permit is that true or not?

You are eligible to apply for Open work permit if your PR case is being processed in land. If you had applied for PR outland, then this does not apply.

thank you for answering my question our papers is inland however im currently here in the philippines and my wife is in canada is it possible to apply for SOWP?

if yes can you give me the link where i can apply online ive been looking for it for almost 3 days and im having a hard time getting the exact page on google i keep on typing keywords and opening forums

No problem. I take it that your spouse is already in Canada on some temp status (Study or work)?

Following is the link to apply for work permit online. SOWP is just a type of work permit, and uses the same forms as those used for standard work permit.

Just that you would choose type as "open work permit" and write Not applicable in employer requirements / details and attach your spousal status details instead.

One more question fkl of you dont mind our nomination is nov 21 2013 however there is a expiration date for that and its only good for 6 mos does it mean that I can no longer apply for owp? Even though our papers is already on cio for pr processing can I still apply?
